Chapter 12 POV Mark

717 Words
POV Mark Amelia stormed out of my house and I couldn’t blame her. All the cheating and lies had finally caught up with me and I was devastated that she didn’t believe me. I didn’t want to be with anyone else but her and it hurt like crazy that she only seen me as a f**k boy. A few days passed and I had messaged her at least 20 times and I hadn’t heard anything back from her and I was heartbroken again. But this time I only had myself to blame. I deleted the app from my phone and as soon as Cheryl came back from her break away I told her that I didn’t want us to be together any more. She gave me a really hard time and asked if I was with somebody else but the truth was that I had lost Amelia again and I knew that she wouldn’t give me another chance. Cheryl moved out and I was alone again and I thought that Amelia was right, I should get help. I had been lost for so long going from random woman to random woman and it wasn’t good for me to keep going on the way I had been. I threw myself into work but that didn’t help either. The day after Amelia walked out of my house I had to go and read all of Dr Logan’s notes on her. It said that she wasn’t dealing with her grief and wouldn’t let go of the idea that her husband had died. We weren’t allowed to read his actual records because of patient confidentiality but the notes said that he was trying to get her to admit that her husband was no longer there and it broke my heart for her. I had messed with her head with all of my nonsense and I decided that it would be better for her if I stayed away. His phone records showed that he had called her multiple times but he hadn’t heard anything back. I read her brother in law Roberts notes and it said that he was grieving his brother and that he was struggling with a personal relationship. He’d had an appointment with Dr Logan that Wednesday and his receptionist said there was nothing unusual about their meeting. I went and interviewed him and asked what he had been doing on the Friday evening and he said that he had been at home all night with a woman and that he could give me her details to confirm his whereabouts. His alibi checked out so I put it out of my head that he had something to do with Dr Logan’s murder. I think it was easy for me to be suspicious of him because of my feelings for Amelia and how jealous I was of him. Then forensics came back and said they had a finger print on Dr Logan’s desk from one of his other patients, and that he was the last person that he saw that day. When I read his notes it said that this man had anger issues and when I looked into his background he had a police record as long as my arm and it was all for violent acts against people of authority. He didn’t have an alibi and he lost it and attacked the arresting officers when we arrested him on suspicion of murder. He fitted the profile and he was extremely tall with huge hands. We found CCTV of him running in the area at the approximate time of death. I questioned him about the death of Amelia’s husband and it turns out that he was in prison at the time. I couldn’t help but pull up the case file and although both men had been strangled there wasn’t a lot else in common. The suspect was arrested and charged and I went onto the next case. But something always baffled me about the whole thing. Why did Dr Logan look up Amelia’s notes just before he died? why did he call her so many times when she missed her appointments? And why in my house rather than call him Dr Logan why did she called him Jeremy? There was more too all of this than meets the eye.
