Chapter 30 I woke up to a young woman opening my windows, letting in a warm dry breeze. Something smelled amazing, and it took only a moment to trace the aroma back to a tray on the bedside table. Delicate potato fillets spiraled attractively on one plate, a dollop of fresh sour cream at their center. On another plate, tiny seared sausages lay in a heap next to a poached egg. My mouth watered, and when I realized there was a cup of impossibly dark Turkish coffee to one side, I moaned. The woman turned, looking concerned, but when she saw me inhaling the caffeinated steam she smiled, ducked her head, and retreated from the room. I’d never had a servant before, not even a maid.
