Chapter 43
Elizabeth and the others remained in the main laboratory. As Jack and Emily stepped out of the hatch, they felt a sense of relief.
"Did you succeed?" Elizabeth said, and without looking back she shot one of the guards.
"It's done," Jack said. "But we have to leave. Now."
Alarms sounded throughout the compound, and the resistance quickly regrouped and ran down the hall. Lydia leads them, her ruthless and precise actions always keeping them one step ahead of the combined might of the Allied Forces.
As they pulled out of the exit, Emily glanced back at the facility once more, no longer dark and dangerous, but in chaos and threatened with destruction. She remembered the suffering people of this place, whose lives had been twisted and destroyed by her consortium's experiments.
