Bitter Truth

Richard and Mary were in their bedroom worried about their only daughter. Mary sits on bed with head down and Richard moves to and fro in the room in agitation. " I have never demanded anything from you. Only thing I expected from you was to take care of my daughter. But it seems to me that you are lacking your responsibility in this too. Why??" He frowned. Mary who was sitting on bed gets startled in fear and looks at him. " Answer me" he shouted and Mary started crying. " I don't know Richard what had happened to her? But I promise you that I will take care of her and won't let you disappoint anymore. " She said in trembling voice. " Yes dear, you will surely take care of her. You will have to. As you have no choice." He said with grinding his teeth. " I don't want her to suffer in any problems whether be physically or be emotionally. So I tell you to take her and visit your mother's place for few days." Says Richard. Mary gets shocked at his resolution. " It's been almost 25years and you have never let me go to my Parents place because of this girl. And now all of a sudden you want me to take her and visit my parents?? Do you think it's right? " She asks anguished. " Do what I say. I hope it's clear to you. Pack your bags and leave to your home by this Friday. " Richard said firmly. Mary couldn't protest or question him any more. She simply nods her head and says quietly, " yes". Richard opens the bedroom door to exit himself when he speaks up again saying, " take care of my daughter, tonight I'll be in the lab. Have hell lot of works. Okay see you tomorrow morning. Goodnight love." And he leaves showing his teeth of pride to her.
Mary sighs relieved as he leaves and lies on bed calming herself. Tears forming at the edge of her eyes and in no time she burst out crying like a child. There was no one to see or feel her pain. " Why did I marry a wrong man God?? " She kept on saying to herself. After a while, when her eyes were dry and she is calm, Mary thinks , " I don't understand why he had to bring an orphan to home when we can have our own child?" Jane was 2years old when Richard had brought her home without telling Mary anything about it. Mary was surprised at the same time was shocked as he did not inform her anything before about her arrival. " She is adorable and so beautiful. I guess she belongs to a rich family. Don't know who are her parents and why did they leave her ?? " She said to herself. Richard didn't want his own child but the reason was unknown to Mary. And she didn't dare to ask him anything because she was aware of his ill temper and maniac behaviour. So, she accepted Jane and treated her as her own daughter.
" It's been a long time. Let me check my baby how she is?" Says Mary to herself and gradually walks towards Jane's room when a loud noise occurs around the kitchen and she gets distracted to see from where the noise has come in the kitchen. Mary puts on the lights but there's nothing. She then puts off the light and walks towards the Jane's room when her phone starts ringing and she picks up the phone heading back to her room.
On the other hand, Jane reaches the farm party and gets surprised as she doesn't seem to see her friends and Ben there. All her classmates were present there and her most sworn enemies too whom she hates from the core of her heart. " Hello darling ?? You here?? " Said Shirleen, a girl of Jane's age wearing a black backless top and blue jeans. " Get out of my way." Said Jane as she realised that she is been fooled again. Shirleen never misses any opportunity to embarrass or to taunt Jane. Because she loves it when she finds her in misery and enjoys watching her. " So where are your puppies with whom you always roam around??" Asked Shirleen. Jane doesn't reply instead her eyes searches for her friends when a loud sound occurs behind her. A guy breaks the bottle of champagne and this sound terrifies her. She looks back in terror and gets surrounded by a bunch of young men and women. a couple of minutes, when Jane opens her eyes sheOthers stood in their place watching this drama and keeping mum. " Hey loser, why don't you go and die?? She is nothing but a fool. " All the guys and gals started shouting centering her and making fun of her. Jane felt that her breath has stopped and she panicked to regain the strength that was losing her mind but she fails and falls on ground unconsciously. After finds herself lying on couch. Her friends and classmates were all waiting for her conscious to come back.
" Hey what happened? Where were you guys?? I was searching you all" asked Jane vaguely. " We thought of not attending the party as you were not well. But then all of a sudden, I got a phone call that you came here in the party and fainted. So we rushed here to check on you. " Said Lily. " I am befooled again Lily. Those two idiots have made fun of me. " Excuse me?? Whom are you talking about??" Yelled Shirleen from the other side of the place." And Jane frowns. " You better watch your words. " Says Jane. " Oh ya, so what say?? Wanna fight?? " Provokes Shirleen. " Leave. " Jane replies. " Loser. " Shirleen smirks and starts singing " loser, loser,loser..." All of a sudden Jane gets up from the couch and vigorously walks towards Shirleen and punches on her mouth. Shirleen falls down and lies on the ground... " b***h get lost" Jane says and walks away...
