CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT For a long moment, pure white light was the only thing I could see. It was like someone had turned on the brightest white lights possible all at once. I didn’t even hear anything, but I could somehow feel the force of the explosion going past me. For one long moment, I was sure that I had just died, that maybe all of us had died, and that I was going to find out real soon if heaven—or hell—existed. But then the whiteness faded.
