Kiara tiredly forced down her breakfast, her body aching and her mind scattered. She hadn’t slept a wink last night. Her master’s behavior still haunted her, leaving her in a state of stunned disbelief. Every time she thought of him, his lips, his touch, something strange twisted in her belly, fluttering low and warm, confusing her even more.
“Hey, Kiara, are you okay?” Gabrielle’s voice pulled her out of her thoughts.
Kiara blinked. “Huh? Yes...what happened?”
“I’ve been calling your name for a while.” Gabrielle frowned, studying her. “And… why are you blushing? Your cheeks are red.”
“It’s nothing,” Kiara quickly muttered, pressing her palms to her cheeks to cool the warmth that rushed up again. “What were you saying?”
