MY BOSS THREW RAJAN a going-away party tonight. She invited everyone who wasn't working to her house, which I'd never been to before. It had a nice big porch overlooking the river. I wouldn't mind living somewhere like that, one day. Goes to show there are ideal spots right here in Friendly Corners.
Lots of people were getting sloppy drunk, and I have to admit I was tempted, but I felt so crappy the last time I overdid it that I pretty much stuck to soda water and cranberry juice. It's a good combination.
The kitchen staff had invited Marissa to come, even though she barely knew Rajan. That was nice of them, I thought. Made her feel like part of the team. I know because she told me so.
