Chapter 24 WHEN SOMEONE KNOCKED at the door first thing Saturday morning, my groggy initial thought was that it might be Rajan coming to say goodbye before leaving for Banff. I should have wished him well before leaving the party. Ever since Marissa walked back into my life, I've been acting like a teenager, preoccupied by attachment and s*x. I rolled over in bed, and Marissa rolled with me. Her arms wrapped around my hips. She jammed her face into my n***d back, mumbling for water. “Holy Cats!” I cried, jumping out of bed when I set sights on the alarm clock. “Marissa, it's almost noon!” She groaned and buried her head beneath my abandoned pillow. There was another knock at the door, so I threw on my housecoat and treaded across the apartment. “Poppy?” a familiar voice called.
