Chapter 36 Early on the day of Mary and her group’s departure, Etan couldn’t begin to manage the cheerful façade he knew he’d need. His relief that everything had proceeded so smoothly from idea to imminent murder only drove his guilt and despair deeper. Harry’s lottery had gone off without a hitch.
