Nuiana realized she was quite nervous as she rowed aboard her small kayak. She had traveled much farther south than usual and the storm had caught her at sea. As the young woman never got too far away from the coast she had been able to find shelter in a cove until the storm had passed. Nuiana knew her mother would wait anxiously for her in the igloo where they had been living for three summers. They were alone since all the rest of the Inuit who lived nearby had gone towards more productive hunting areas.
