BETRAYED

Mira slowly approached the door almost like it had the ability to take her breath or her life at that moment. She was into him, even though it was relationship that developed from a blind date their parents set up in hopes of them getting married and uniting their resources. A powerful business moguls influence mix with that of a family of royalty, he wasn't a prince although he sure acted like one.

Her hands trembled a bit at the door handle before she summoned one last breathe to push the door open and lo and behold...

"ho-how could you..." she said shaking in anger, her heart twisting with pain from the betrayal. "how could you do this to me" at this point she was already sobbing.

Max quickly separated from his lover on the bed and stood up dressing.

"don't you know how to knock." he said in a panic.

But she wasn't in a mood to notice anything other than her pain. Her heart felt like it wanted to do away with her chest, it was so hot, beating so fast.

"Max ... why" she asked

"Max? what's going on?" the girl who was just having s*x with him asked blinking almost innocently.

Mira looked towards her and was shocked, so shocked her mouth was slightly open. "this, thi- this is that girl who approached you at our date last month, you swore you didn't give her your number. what's happening?"

"look I love it's just... it just happened"

"it didn't just happened you connected over a month before it did... Is this the first time?" she asked infear that there might have been more.

"yes, yes, yes, it is please.." he said grabbing her hand "don't leave me"

"ask her to leave!"

"Go"

"Max!" the girl said almost in a wronged tone.

"Go Cynthia don't make me repeat myself." Max said in annoyance and panic. His parents had told him that they needed Mira and her father's resources, she was sweet to him, capable, and sometimes cute. it's just... she never takes the initiative and he never asks. They've been dating and got engaged recently, wedding preparations were being made. He absolutely couldn't let her go not now.

He felt like there was another reason, the mere thought of her leaving made his heart boil. He couldn't imagine her leaving because of him, or going to someone else. He assumed it was guilt, he couldn't have fallen in love yet...

"hey, I'm sorry, I just wanted a release." he said in hopes of excusing his actions.

"Mira?"

Mira starred at the walls of the room in silence. She wanted to sit down but the thought of what they had done on the bed made her so sick she refused to sit there. Her pride wouldn't let her. So she headed towards the terrace and sat on the chair there and poured herself a cup of water.

What she planned today was taking him to her dad's new solar power resort, telling him about her unlocked abilities and having a good time. She'd even take the initiative, and give herself to him. She loved him or at least she liked him enough. But someone has beat her to the job, she started sobbing again.

Max panicked, "Mira!"

He walked to her side and held her apologizing over and over again.
