Elariana The world shattered around me. The ground was hard beneath my back. My arms burned as rough hands dragged me along. My fingers caught on roots and stones, tearing my skin, but no one cared if I screamed from the pain. To them I was nothing more than prey. An object to be taken back to the place they believed I never should have left. My scream had gone hoarse. My throat burned. Tears streamed from my eyes, blinding me, turning everything into shadows and movement and dark shapes. “No… please… no…” I kept repeating, as if the words could mean anything in this hell. “Do not touch me…” The answer was laughter. Rough. Familiar. The same laughter that haunted my dreams. I kicked and fought, but my body was too weak. My strength was gone. The weight of old memories dragged me down
