CHAPTER TWELVE SOMEHOW THEY GOT THROUGH the rest of the evening. Once everyone had gone to their rooms, Heathcliffe helped Nita clean up. She was still pale, her bright green gaze dancing nervously around as she worked. Heathcliffe was a little jumpy himself. He’d called the hospital after the incident with the death square and they’d assured him Max was sleeping soundly. It just didn’t make sense. Unless Nita’s instincts were right and it wasn’t Max. Maybe it never had been. But then why did everything happen to her when Max was around? Why did her ex keep tracking her? Whatever was going on, things were escalating.
