CHAPTER SIXTEEN BRITA AND PERCY ENTERED the State Police post in Bloomington, Indiana and showed the receptionist her badge and the article Nita had given her about the body the police found not far from the ranch. “I’d like to speak to the trooper in charge of investigating this case please.” The receptionist glanced at the paper. “Oh, that was Detective Sergeant Parkins. Let me see if he’s in the building.
