HEATHCLIFFE LOOKED at caller ID and saw that it was Percy. “Hey! Did you find out anything useful?”
“A couple of things. Auntie denies knowing where Max is but she seems to have been keeping track of him. We think he’s contacted her from each of his locations.”
“Okay.”
“The good news is that it appears he plans on visiting her in a couple of days.”
Heathcliffe frowned. “That seems unlikely, since he’s here stalking Nita right now.”
“Which is why I’m thinking he plans on bringing Nita with him.”
Heathcliffe glanced toward the stairs to the second floor, his feet moving before he made the conscious decision to walk. “I’m planning on making sure he misses that visit.”
