Chapter 2 (Alaric's life without Anna)

The day after Anna and Alaric's break-up

Alaric is on his thoughts thinking that had lied about dating the girl, it was just an easy way of finally getting rid of Anna after at least five days of dating. The reason why because he did not really feel like dating and it was the best way to cut the relationship off, by sabotaging himself. He even started ignoring the other girl as he felt they were both not a piece of his cake. He just did not feel like dating them and this was after he reminded himself that love is pathetic. He almost dated the second girl but then he just woke up and told himself that there are way better things to do than dating and then he started focusing on his academics. According to Alaric he was just being a good guy by ruining his relationship with Anna, as it gives Anna the chance to spread her wings and possibly find the one guy who will give her the love that she deserved, and Alaric thought that maybe he ain't the one.

When he met Anna for the first time after their break-up, he just ignored her to the point that one would think that Anna did a horrible thing to him. Nobody knew what was going on as he never told his friends what he has been with, he just kept everything to himself and after the break-up he took months before talking to Anna again. Their relationship and friendship were over and he simply didn't care, as long as he benefited from the break-up, that was the only thing that mattered as he got his peace and happiness back. In Alaric's life, only his happiness matters and as long as he's happy, then the whole world has no chance but to be happy as well.

Days passed and Alaric was normal, he had no emotions at all and that's probably due to alot of things he had been going through since the past few years of his life.

Months passed and Alaric was still not talking to Anna though they both shared most of their classes and then just one day, Alaric decided to text Anna. At first she didn't respond then days later Alaric texted again and then Anna responded and they talked till Alaric asked for forgiveness. He went to the extent of telling Anna that she never dated the other girl and that whatever he did was for Anna's good.

They started talking on the phone but whenever they met in person all that happened was a 'hi' and then they passed each other. Anna wanted a friendship that they used to have whereas Alaric just used her because she always attended classes and Alaric knew that whenever he wanted school work then Anna was his 'go to girl'.

In Alaric's brain they were both benefit from this digital friendship, Anna got her friend back and Alaric got the person who was going to help him get through school because it was not really a great academic year for him.

Both of them were benefiting from the friendship, atleast that's what Alaric thought.
