Aria’s pov
I knew I would need Diesel here to help me deal with my parents. I couldn’t face them alone. I was back home, and in the room, I would be spending way too much time in.
I was in pain from all the traveling I had to do to get here. I just wanted to sleep, but I knew that would be impossible. I knew any minute my parents would walk through that door.
They would look at me with pity and fear in their eyes. I just couldn’t see them look at me the way everyone else has been. Like I was some poor helpless girl that had nothing to live for. Yes, I lost my leg, but I was alive. Many of my fellow soldiers weren’t that lucky.
