Ryder’s pov
I hated hearing how upset Shadow was. I know Karmin would be good to the kids. One of the reasons I once loved her is how amazing she was with kids. I was worried about Karmin. She had called me every day except today.
Had Shalan done something to her? I once thought I would spend the rest of my life with her. I didn’t wish her any harm. This Shalan sounded like a real tool. Why did two beautiful women that were so smart fall for a man like that?
I felt this overpowering need to protect Shadow. I could hear how hurt she was when she talked about her kids. I couldn’t imagine what she was going through. The way Karmin made it sound is that he hated kids.
That he didn’t want the baby and even told her to get rid of it. So why was he fighting Shadow for custody?
