"Salma, for God's sake wake up." Safiya groaned, whacking her over the head with a pillow. Salma rolled over in bed, groaning at the rude awakening. "Leave me alone."
"Wallahi sai kin tashi (You have to wake up)." Safiya replied, whacking her with the pillow harder. Salma pushed her off the bed, smiling inwardly as she landed with a thud on the carpet. "Ke muguwa ce (You're a wicked person)." she said, standing up slowly. Salma chuckled as she leant back on the headrest. She rubbed her eyes slowly, blinking from the bright light. "What's the time?" she asked.
"11 am." Safiya replied, sitting beside her. "We're supposed to be in court by 12 pm."
At the mention of the court, Salma's eyes flew open, completely awake. She suddenly remembered what day it was. The days had just flown by.
