"Are you the patient's husband?" the doctor asked, staring at Mansur. Rukayyah felt Mansur's presence even before she turned around. She felt a sour taste in her mouth as she turned around and stared at her brother.
Mansur strode towards them confidently. His gait was lopsided, as he was trying to hide the limp in his step.
"Good afternoon doctor." he smiled, stretching out his hand for the doctor. He took Mansur's hand slowly, shaking it once. "Afternoon." he muttered. "Would you care to step into my office, please?"
"Of course. Shall we?" Mansur smiled. Doctor Kareem was puzzled as he stared at Mansur. Any other man would be devastated if his pregnant wife was lying in a hospital bed. But Mansur seemed absolutely fine with the situation. In fact, he almost seemed thrilled.
