Right after the portal closed...
I stared at the c*****e, mouth gaping open.
I had been prepared to die alongside Uriel today, but the damn demon had had a secret weapon.
"Why am I just now finding out about this hidden secret of yours?" I asked him when I finally found my voice.
"I didn't want anyone to use it--or me," he shrugged nonchalantly. Unaffected. "Besides, would you have honestly let me be your deep undercover in hell if you had known?"
I contemplated for a moment and shook my head. "Nope. I probably wouldn't have."
"Exactly." He turned to look around the room, ensuring there weren't any survivors. "I never really used it either. Didn't want anyone finding out and trying to find a way to control me into using it."
