Hours passed, her back turning cold against the stone roof wall. Changing position to stay comfortable and keep watch was a difficult task. Her legs were stiffening and the cold was wearing her out. But as the church bells struck 11 o'clock, she felt a tingling sensation, the anticipation building. He was close. She watched the corners of the building with eagerness. He would make his appearance, she was sure of it.
