The moment Tessie set foot in the terrace home on Albemarle Street, Ruby threw her arms around her.
"You've come back to us!" Her ever pretty eyes blinked back a bright sheen as she squeezed her hands. It took Tessie by surprise and she struggled to mirror her warmth even though she was happy to see her. She hadn't expected them to miss her so, or to even really worry about her. Were they friends now after all this? Is this what friendship was?
