A wolf's mark

Maliha's POV

"This is a wolf's mark but it's incomplete. Where is the other mark?and why does it glow? He asked while shifting my hair so he can get a closer look at it.

"I've had the mark since I was little which my parents know about but when I clocked eighteen it started to glow and no one knows about me except you and I.

"But where is the other mark? He asked curiously

"How I'm I supposed to know it's been like that since I was little. I really don't have the faintest of idea on where the other mark is, no more questions that's all I know. We have a long journey ahead of us and don't forget we're still in the packs territory" he nodded and we ran away. I'm mesmerized there wasn't any wolf lurking around.

We were out of the packs territory and we slowed down. I glanced around and I got to notice we are still in the middle of a dark forest who knows where this route will lead us to. Being a daughter to the Alpha I haven't stepped out of my kingdom so all this is new to me.

"I sense an unfamiliar presence. Let's run quickly we don't have much time I can sense others in a distance it seems they are coming after us I grabbed his wrist. Hold on tightly and no matter what don't let go" I said, then he nodded.

Afterwards, I ran with so much speed using my ability to see in the dark. This forest is so huge and I can't figure out where it's leading me to, all I can think of right now is I need to get away as to not get caught . I'm glad I recalled to block our scents so they won't be able to track our whereabouts. After running for a long time. I sensed no one is following us I slowed my pace. I looked around, I noticed we're too far away from the pack's territory I'm sure we ran for hours we made it without getting caught.

"That was so fast, Maliha" Ansaldo uttered and we burst out in laughter.

"You don't need to laugh loudly. I thought since you're a girl your meant to laugh softly don't blame me that's what every man desires from his woman" Ansaldo teased

" Oh really that's brave of you, you're saying my laughter isn't pleasing to hear right huh! I can see clearly what you're trying to do. You're getting back at me" I laughed and I could still hear him laugh. I smiled while giving him a light slap on his arm then I hugged him tightly and he wraps him hands round me.

"For a moment I thought I lost you Ansaldo. I couldn't have dealt with it, I love you so much"

" I love you too Mahila but you could have easily chosen your kingdom over me then we wouldn't have to elope"

" Are you crazy? Do you know what choosing my kingdom would have cost you. Yeah anyone would say that but before taking this big step I thought it through.

My father was trying to play with my head and my emotions but as it's said blood is thicker than water. I'm his daughter he should be aware that if he's smart then I'm smarter, he made an announcement before everyone if I reject you as my mate he'll spare your life but it wasn't true instead it will be the other way round. When he forcibly makes me reject you as my mate in front of everyone in the pretext of keeping you alive he'll go behind and kill you.

I've been with him for long to know how his brain works. His pride and his kingdom is more important for him and he won't let anyone trample on it and set the person free he or she will have to pay with his or her life. I just couldn't believe his words that's why I had to devise a plan quickly I couldn't think of anything except this decision. I really don't care about anything or what anyone thinks of you what matters the most is I love you and I wanna be with you forever" I said then he lifted up my face and gave me a kiss on my forehead.

We didn't say a word as silence enveloped us. The only sound I could hear were the chirping of the birds and we locked hands while walking slowly to an unknown destination. I noticed him taking side glances at me and it made me blush I'm so glad I made the decision to escape. I would have felt guilty and heartbroken if I couldn't save Ansaldo's life and I'll make sure I can protect him as much as I can. I'm happy we're finally out of the pack I hope my father and his men wouldn't try to find us and we'll get as far away as possible maybe we can find another pack which will accept us. Even if we'll have to work we'll do it happily as far as no one will try to separate us.

We kept on treading as lightly as we could. I could see Ansaldo peering around I really feel for him it seems as though the stars aren't in his favour he was born an Omega neither can he shift.

We were at the outskirts of our land and we crossed the border into another pack.

"Hey who are you? And where are you headed to? I heared a voice utter behind me and I turned as utter confusion swept across my face.

"Didn't you hear me. Are you both deaf or do I need to repeat myself again?"

" I'm Maliha, daughter I mean we lost our way after our pack was burnt down. We have no where to go to" I lied

" A pack being burnt down. Never heared something like that"

" How would you hear it's a very small and unrecognizable pack"

" So be it Maliha welcome to our pack and you what's your name?"

"I'm Ansaldo"

" We are gonna adopt the necessary measures but while doing your jobs you'll be observed, for now you guys need to help around that's where people like you belong and you can inform one of the Omegas to help you get a corner in the servant quarters and pay heed to my warning no fights if not you'll get severely punished. Is that understood?

I looked at the lady blatantly. Such ego I wondered what her position is in the park she acts so pompous. I hope she isn't one of the Omegas I'll surely be the first person to give a hard and painful laughter" I thought inwardly

" Hello do I have to repeat myself. You said your pack was burnt down so that makes you a rogue. Get to work now and help others around there's a lot that needs to be done" She said but I still didn't move an Inch

" Go now! I said. Bunch of fools" She said as she walked out of us
