Chapter 4: Biggest betrayal

Maliha's POV

I woke up when I felt something frigid on my body and I shivered against the cold. I stared up at the human standing in front of me while pouring cold water on me without giving me a chance to breathe properly I could have drowned to death with just a bucket of cold water.

It was Lady Maya the Royal kitchen head. She stood still like a warrior who's prepared and on it's way to the battle field as she glared at me in a disgusting manner.

I could always see through her. I know she doesn't like me one bit and always looks for any given opportunity to hurt me while her body finds peace and solace and when she gets one she treats me as though I took away her previous life from her.

"Hey! Servant girl. You can't deceive me with your innocent looks, you better stop shedding those crocodile tears when you've committed a heinous crime of theft. You're being punished so just accept your fate and one more thing always lower your gaze when talking to me"

I looked at her still keeping mute. I guess she got angry as she grabbed me forcibly by my neck and gave me a sounding slap across the face and at that exact moment I knew my cheek had turned red.

My eyes said it all as I glared at her and growled in anger. I started to ask myself different questions. How did I end up in this way? And how I'm I meant to cope with such amount of grief and annoyance" From being an Alpha's daughter to a lowly Omega.

Ansaldo's handsome face came rushing into my head as it enveloped my mind.

"Why are you always lost in thoughts? Now come on!. The Alpha has asked for your release, your assistance is needed in the Royal kitchen" She said while grabbing me which made me stand upright on my toes.

"I don't wanna help. I like it here though I was accused of a crime I can't dare to commit besides we have so many maids why must it be only me? She shot me a deadly glare

"How does it matter if they are many maids in the packs kitchen. Hold on a minute you servant girl who do you think you are to air out your opinion, one thing you should be aware of is you don't have a say here so act accordingly or your wings which you wanna use to fly high like a bird will be clipped. The Alpha has ordered your release so you can join in the kitchen but since you're acting sturborn I'll inform him right now.

Hearing that she was gonna go straight to the Alpha to complian made me tremble in fear and shock. I didn't want to be aware of the terrible and shitty things he's gonna do to me when he finds out I didn't carry out his orders.

"No pl--ease I'll do as you say . Just don't let him have an idea about our conversation"

" You've finally gotten back your senses now get out and move fast! She commanded as her light sharp voice echoed loudly.

I walked out from the dungeon reluctantly with Lady Maya walking in front of me. The dungeon guards bowed down to her a little but she walked away and I followed her to wherever she was leading me to.

I strode into the pack's royal kitchen with Lady Maya but yet again I got to see the awful faces of the maids who never stop gossiping. It seems they've taken it as a new hobby and an early morning breakfast, the maids bowed down to her just for a little respect which I'm aware about. They stared at me and gave a loud sigh but it still doesn't matter to me.

"Isn't she the girl who stole Lady Layla's golden bracelet, such a pity that she's a thief" One of the females said which raised an outburst from me. I don't like to be accused for a crime I didn't commit.

"Don't you dare call me a thief, I didn't steal Lady Layla's golden bracelet. I'm not a thief" I screamed, repeating my words as I flared up in anger.

"shut your mouth up! and lower your voice. No thief accepts he or she has stolen something so you're no different. Why didn't you explain yourself to the Alpha when it was being needed? Did a cat get hold of your tongue then? but now your tongue is being so loose. And what about you guys? Are the guests gonna eat me for dinner when they arrive? Get back to work you good for nothing creatures" Lady Maya cursed at them, scowling defiantly and the maids disengaged from themselves and scampered back to work.

"And you a lowly mega servant girl who acts like a daughter of an alpha. It will only be in your dreams, Is it understood? it's better you learn how to shut up and accept your fate. Get down to work and clean this floor thoroughly in the next ten minutes. Infact I want you to be done before the ten minutes are over it's an order and it is said that an order must always be followed. If you decide to waste anymore time in cleaning the floor just consider your self done, your time starts now.

Moving slowly towards the floor as though I was counting my steps. I grabbed a cloth and a bucket of water as I bent down and dipped my hands into the water, making sure to wash the floor till it glitters. I was slow but fast as I cleaned the beads on sweat formed on my forehead. When I was done serving my punishment I turned my head, facing Lady Maya.

"Are you done with your work" She asked, peering around at the other side of the kitchen floor I cleaned up.

"Yes I did"

"Okay take this fruit juice to Lady Layla, She needs to drink it in order to get a peaceful beauty sleep. Take it to her room right now and don't be sluggish like a snail, other things needs to be done"

I got hold of the fruit juice from her and Instantly my stomach rumbled. I got surprised cause I'm hungry for food and not for a fruit juice I guess I'm tasty, my throat has been dry for one day and it hurts so much that I can't swallow my saliva to quench my thirst even when I know it won't work. I also haven't had anything to eat and here am I being forced to take a fruit juice to a person who isn't crippled. Funny enough to know that's how life works, how I so much hate Lady Layla.

I walked out from the Royal kitchen in a huff with the fruit juice on a tray while holding it tightly. I can't afford to let the fruit juice spill on the floor cause I don't want any more taunts and severe punishments. I held it dearly like it was a missing part of my life, I smiled broadly when I thought about Ansaldo I'm happy the Alpha has guests visiting the pack today at least when the meeting is going on I'll take Ansaldo to a private place and we are gonna spend quality time together. I miss him and his touch which makes my whole body melt thinking about it gives me butterflies in my belly. Getting to the room I knocked but no one answered from inside I was told Lady Layla is inside or maybe did she step out. I used my hands to twist the knob of the door silently and that was when I noticed the door hasn't been locked so it clearly means no one is inside I'll just drop her fruit juice on her dressing mirror and get going atleast I'll escape all her tantrums and silly talks.

I held the knob of the door and pushed it open and I gasped in shock seeing Ansaldo and Layla naked in bed as they were having the best time of their lives with sweat dripping down from his forehead as Layla kept riding him. My hands started shaking vigorously and the tray of the fruit juice I brought to give to Lady Layla fell flat on the floor and Ansaldo opened his eyes alongside Layla.

"God damn it" He muttered
