My Husband Rekindled with His First Love

Today is my birthday. My husband and I are going to watch a drone light show.

I dressed up and looked forward to a rare night out.

By the time the light show ended, I'd only got a call from Jason.

He said, “I have to work overtime with Director Grace on an urgent project.”

Since Grace Wellsley became his supervisor, Jason has either worked late with her or travelled a lot.

I don't know how long he'll be busy.

I tried not to be disappointed and got ready to leave when I saw something on the screen:

“Grace,thank you for your help, I hope we can create a better future together.”

I looked at the video conference on my phone and smiled sadly.

“That's Emily from the power company. I didn't expect her at our annual meeting!”

Someone pointed at me.

“I heard her husband is our company manager, Jason. What a workaholic.”

I saw an award ceremony nearby.

Annual meeting?

I went over and saw Grace Wellsley holding a trophy as she walked towards Jason on the stage. She was wearing a grey suit that showed off her competence and elegance.

“Let's congratulate Jason for winning the Best Employee of the Year Award!”

Grace's voice spread throughout the garden.

“Not only is Jason's business ability outstanding, he's also our company's model husband.”

She gave the trophy to Jason, and they kissed.

The crowd applauded and cheered.

I stood in the crowd, feeling cold and alone.

Didn't he have to work overtime today?

How could he be here with another woman?

Everyone who noticed me turned their gaze to me.

Their eyes were teasing or sympathetic.

Jason saw me and seemed panicked, but then he acted like a professional.

“Our surprise was discovered by Emily. Why don't you ask your wife to come up and share a speech?”

Jason smiled awkwardly,“Grace, this may not be appropriate...”

Grace Wellsley interrupted, “What's wrong?We believe in a good work-life balance.”

She turned to me, “Emily, come on.”

I took a deep breath and stayed calm.

I walked onto the stage slowly and said, “In order to make our family better, my husband not only works very hard at work, but also works very hard on their affairs. Thank you very much for your company and Ms Grace's affirmation of my husband.”

After saying this, I turned around and left, ignoring the tumult from the audience.

Grace Wellsley provoked me by kissing my man in public. She wanted to see me fight with Jason.

“Emmy, listen to my explanation...”

My phone vibrated. It was a message from Jason.
