Getting Hurt

728 Words
Fae. If you're wondering how I've managed financially since my parents passed away, well, they were reasonably well-off. They weren't extremely wealthy, but they had enough to live comfortably, so I didn't have to struggle much to find money for living or education. However, even though I had money left by my parents, I had to spend it frugally because no matter how much money you have, if you spend it every day, it will eventually run out. Especially now that I have two children to take care of, it makes me need to find more income. I decided to study children's clothing design and tailoring while I was pregnant, and I was able to design clothes to sell online, earning a decent income. It made me proud that I could earn money on my own without relying solely on my parents' money. Now, the clothes I sell are doing well, with orders coming in constantly because I have the cutest little models. The money I earn from sales, I save for them. Whistle! Whistle! Whistle! "Freshmen from all departments, this is an announcement from the seniors. I ask all freshmen to quickly run and line up at the activity area. You have 15 minutes. If you don't make it in time, you'll be punished with 100 push-ups!!!! I was startled when I heard the loud whistle over the loudspeakers, followed by the senior's announcement calling the freshmen. I looked around and saw freshmen running frantically to line up in time as instructed. As I was about to run, I suddenly fell down unexpectedly. Thud!!! "Ouch!" I exclaimed as I fell to the ground because I was hit hard. When I looked up, I saw two girls standing with their arms crossed, looking at me with obvious displeasure, leaving me confused. "How did you walk? Didn't you see where you were going?!!!" "Me? Not looking where I was going?" I pointed at myself when the girl in front of me accused me of not looking, even though she was the one who ran into me while I was just walking. "Exactly, if not you, then who else made me waste my time here when I'm in a hurry?" "But you ran into me first, so how can you blame me?" I thought I wasn't at fault, so I responded to her. "But I'm a senior, and you're just a freshman. Learn to have some respect and don't talk to seniors like this." I thought to myself, if I hadn't taken a break from school, I'd be a senior too. "It doesn't matter if you're a senior or a freshman. If you make a mistake, you should admit it, not try to make yourself right." "Are you daring to lecture me?!!!" "Gale, don't waste your time with this kid. Go see Hunter. Didn't he ask you to meet him?" Her friend intervened, making her back off. "Oh, right, I forgot Hunter asked me to meet him. As for you, I'll let it slide this time." "What?! You're gonna take action?? Shouldn't I be the one taking action against you for bumping into me and scraping my knee like this? You should be the one taking responsibility, that's the right thing to do." "Why should I be responsible when you weren't watching where you were going and fell on your own?" "Pretty face, ugly attitude." "You!!!" Gale was upset by what I said, but then her phone rang. Beep beep beep "Hunter is calling me, so I gotta go, Sunny. I'll deal with you later," she said to her friend, shooting me a threatening look. Gale hurried off as soon as her phone rang, and her friend gave me an unfriendly look before walking the other way. So, on my first day of school, I ended up getting hurt for nothing. I got knocked down, scraped my knee, and still got blamed for not watching where I was going. Could I be any unluckier? I picked myself up and brushed off the dust. "Are you okay? Do you need any help?" I looked up at the person who approached me. He was a very good-looking guy, with an Asian appearance. Judging by his neat attire from head to toe, I guessed he was also a first-year student like me. Our little Philip is gonna get someone all riled up, hehe.
