Face-off

1100 Words
Hunter. I'm still standing with my arms crossed, staring at the person who was once my wife... "once was" means that now she's just my ex-wife. Our relationship ended over three years ago, and the reason we broke up was because I get bored easily. I'm the type who gets bored quickly. Even though she was my girlfriend, my wife at the time, my nature couldn't change. After a while, I reverted to my old self because I never dated just one woman. Being with just one woman is boring. I got bored with her, so I looked for excitement with other women, and she found out. And to make matters worse, that woman was her former close friend. You could say I'm a jerk for being with my wife's friend, but what could I do? The woman came to my room and flirted; it would have been a waste not to take the opportunity, so I did. Then my unlucky day came. There's no secret in the world. That day, Fae came to my room unannounced. She opened the door while I was entangled with her friend on the sofa, clothes in disarray. There was no way I could lie and deny it; she wouldn't have believed me anyway. She told me to choose between her and her friend, but how could I choose when I didn't want to choose either of them? Whether it was her or her friend, I didn't want anyone. Back then, I approached Fae just to see if I could win her over, not because I felt love or anything. I was just curious to see how a prim, nerdy girl like Fae would be in bed with me. I spent months pursuing her until she opened up to me. During that time, I acted like the perfect gentleman, not getting involved with anyone else, focusing only on her. Eventually, she agreed to date me. After a while, I convinced her to come to my condo, and I was her first lover. I remember well because she was the only woman I took the virginity of. Normally, I don't like inexperienced women, but Fae was an exception. I was her first lover. Believe it or not, a player like me didn't pursue anyone else because I was captivated by Fae's freshness. But as I said, over time... As time went by, I started to get bored, so I went looking for other women. Fae didn't know until the secret came out when I was with her friend. That was the last day we were together because she asked to break up with me, and I was fine with it. If she wanted to break up, then so be it—I didn't care. We broke up so long ago that I forgot I ever had a wife because, in my whole life, I never called anyone my wife except the woman I'm staring at right now. It seems she knows I see and recognizes her, so she avoids my gaze. Fae has changed so much, I can hardly recognize her. She looks more beautiful and vibrant than three or four years ago. Even from a distance, I can tell how much she's changed. So, what if I were to look at her up close? With that thought, my legs moved on their own, and I walked straight to the row where Fae was sitting, unaware that I was approaching her because she kept her head down, avoiding me. As I walked through the crowd of hundreds of first-year students, everyone blocking the path moved aside for me, accompanied by the squeals of girls talking about me, something I've gotten used to and bored with when passing groups of women. As I walked through the crowd of hundreds of first-year students sitting in rows, everyone blocking my path shifted to make way for me, with the excited squeals of girls talking about me. It was something I was used to hearing, something that had become mundane whenever I passed by groups of women. Fae. "Eek! Hunter is walking this way!" "The closer you look, the more handsome he is, It makes me blush." "Yes, Hunter is really handsome. This is the first time I've seen him up close like this." "Do you guys know that I came to study here because of Hunter?" "Same here." That was the chatter of the first-year students sitting around me, talking about the jerk named Hunter. "Ahem, hello... Fae," I immediately looked up when I heard the greeting, and without guessing, I knew right away whose voice it was, because even with my eyes closed, I could recognize his voice. Now he was sitting right in front of me, so close I could see every detail. I didn't even know when he had sat down in front of me. We made eye contact for a moment before he looked at me with a displeased expression, which I didn't understand. "Fae, would you please stand up?" he said as he stood up to his full height and leaned down to tell me. "Why should I stand up?" I replied, looking up, causing everyone to turn and look at me in unison. "You're dressed inappropriately, so you need to be punished." "Inappropriate?? " "Yes." "Where exactly is it inappropriate?" "Your student shirt is so thin that I can see your undershirt, and it's so tight I'm worried your shirt might burst open^^" He said this without holding back, causing everyone to look at my student shirt. When I looked down, it wasn't as thin as he said. I looked at others, and they were dressed the same way, yet he didn't say anything to them. Why was he picking on me alone, or did he just want to tease me? "Why aren't others being punished for wearing the same thing?" "Others wear it, but it's not as inappropriate as yours." "You i***t!!! " What right does he have to say I'm inappropriate? "Oh, why are you speaking to your seniors like this? It seems I need to give you a talking-to, so please stand up and follow me." He put on a serious face and barked orders at me in such an authoritative tone that it got on my nerves, but eventually, I got up and followed him out, curious about how he planned to punish me. "Hey, Hunter, where are you taking her, man?" As I followed him out of the row, his friend called out. "To give her a talking-to. You hold down the fort here; I'll be back soon."
