CHAPTER 54: WHAT WOULD BE YOUR CHOICES? When Devon woke up the next day, she was filled with warmth, and she could feel something heavy on her stomach. It was a pair of arms to which she perfectly knew whom it may be belongs to. She could still hear a slight snore, and feel the hot breathe that was fanning right above her left ear as she lies on her sides.  She felt him stirred, and soon enough, the owner of those arms speak softly to her. His voice to which enchant her greatly as always. “Good morning, darling.” She isn’t mistaken the moment she heard Zachary’s groggy voice who may have gotten disturb when she move. He wasn’t as cold as he was before, but exactly at that moment she was filled with so much warm to which she could explain why, although Devon haven’t had any idea where and how did he ended up there. She didn’t know when had he gotten back, or perhaps she was just conformed by sleep. Too lost in depth that she failed to notice that Zachary had slid beside her already. “When did you came back?” She curiously asked, full of intriguing questions as she did. However, Devon did not pulled herself away from his embrace. She snuggled closer to Zachary, although she was bothered. The fact that he might be able to have hinted that there is another scent with her, but then Devon remembered the fact that she is currently wearing the pendant he had given to her. This concealed her scent, alongside with Havoc. But she knew that the moment she took it off from her, Zachary would be able to know. That’s what she was afraid of, in spite of the fact that Devon wasn’t doing anything wrong. Havoc through Tarik’s body, he is her mate.  “I had come back late yesterday night, and I found you sleep already, so I did not bother to wake you up, darling.” That’s what he said as he buried his head right next on the crook of her neck. She could feel him sniffing right across as he did that. His hot breathe alongside with the butterfly kisses to which gave her another warm sensation. Her insides was filled with something to she could describe as the passion—his passionate feelings shown across to her. This made her let out a purring noise, the gratification to which she had grasp of. But she knew exactly what Zachary was trying to do. “You should have wake me up.” She bit her lips as his kisses turned slow, and tempting. “But I know you needed your rest.” He whispered softly. Zachary seems unbothered, while on the other hand, Devon was holding onto a thin threat woven exactly between the temptation he was evoking through her insides, although he may or he may not have intended to. This is too much. She have a handfuls of to deal with, but she won’t deny the fact that she is not liking what Zachary was doing on her neck. He was not only leaving butterfly kisses. But he was biting, and nibbling that sensitive spot to which made Devon writ with pleasure. She couldn’t help it, and her wolf totally agreed with what has been taking place. She seems satisfied, proud, and in an utter submission to whatever may have been Zachary was planning to do with them. She was trying to take over the control, but it was much harder than she thought it should be. “S—stop.” She muster the courage to say, although her body was completely betraying her. Zachary chuckled. “Are you afraid of me?” He softly ask, right before he pulled himself apart, entangling his head to where it should not be, however the tone he used was suggesting something. It was teasing, and mischievous, and was too playful for her liking. However, she had gotten used to it. How can she not be? Zachary was always like this, but same with how her mother speaks of, she knew that it was because of the bond that was keeping both of them together. Himself to which he won’t be able to keep his hands even. Devon was flushed the moment he asked her about it. “I am not.” That is what she said, steam with blush to which Devon was unable to hindered the truth, and simply hide it.  “Then why are you telling me to stop?” He continue in pursuit. Devon pursed her lips. “Didn’t we talk about it?” She whispered lowly. “I am not yet ready.” “I know.” Zachary chuckled. “I am just messing with you.” She pursed her lips. “Then stop messing with me.” She playfully rolled her eyes although he won’t be able to see it, or so Devon thought. Before she knew it, she found herself being raise on the air with ease as his strong arms carried her easily to lay her on top of him. Devon let out a loud gasp to which drowned as she was now straddling him on his torso. Her legs on each side of his waist. It was as if she was the one who was doing the first move, and his expression was suggesting another teasing remarks. “Oh, I thought you wouldn’t wanted it?” He pretended as if he did not just change their position at all. Devon gave him the eye. “You naughty little vampire king—“ “Oh darling.” Something seems to spark on Zachary’s eyes. “You might be having wrong intuition, because I could tell you that it wasn’t small at all.” Her eyes widened. She may not have a dirty mind [for Devon, she did not have], but she could tell exactly to where Zachary has been referring to.  “Z—zach!” She castigated him quickly. His laughter rings aloud inside the room as if he fancy seeing the same expression on her face drawn as it was making her visage priceless. Zachary was amused, but apart from it—he knew exactly it wasn’t just a mere amusement to which he was getting from her. It was the happiness knowingly exactly that it was only Devon who could make him smile, repelling away the stoic expression from his face, and the shadows to which looms that was giving Zachary an intimidating look just like earlier. He did not tell her exactly whereas he might have gone from in fear that it would make Devon worry more. It just that, it was something she should of, only if she knows, but unfortunately she didn’t. Besides Zachary wanted to leave it that way. Earlier right after they were guided to their room, Zachary has been quickly summoned by the King.  “Your majesty.” He lowered his head out of respect, although both of them have a same rank. Two rulers of two different powerful Kingdom. “We are both a king, so you must not do that, your majesty.” That was King Luther said afterwards. “But I insist, your majesty.” Zachary lifted his head. Both him, and his orbs meet. Just like what he has been expecting, King Luther of the Devonshire Kingdom Looks the same. It was as if he did not age even on the slightest of, but what he had lost was the smile he could still envisioned after the war. Him greeting him personally after their Kingdom manage to come up with a truce. A treaty that made them live side by side in peace without harming one another. Something that was far from what myth, and legends usually told about their species. Sworn enemies by blood, but not anymore. They had come to aid, and help one another presupposed by the fact that the foe that have was the same. If not the rogue, surely the one who was carrying the curse to which Zachary haven’t had any slightest iidea of. The King did not speak for a moment, knowing that no matter how much he’ll tell it to the Reinworth King—he wouldn’t listen at all. Left with no option, he brushed it off. “If that is what you would like,” Luther uttered underneath him. He chuckled lowly, but what grab Zachary’s attention was the fact that the King was alone. The Queen he has been with who had greeted them first-hand after their arrival wasn’t there at all. She was missing. Her presence to which he couldn’t feel, but Zachary supress himself for bringing up questions. It wasn’t on his nature to pry onto something that he isn’t supposed to. But his train of thoughts, his curious gaze has been cut off when the King spoke. “I know you may have an idea why you are here, your majesty.” Luther return the same respect he had shown to him. His voice boomed loudly, although he was speaking of into a low voice, his tone controlled as he did that, but Zachary could feel the dominion it has—the domain to which express Luther’s rank. He is an Alpha. The current King of the wolves. “I know why I am here.” Zachary nodded his head. “Your son, Tarik, if I could remember had visited our Kingdom and told me that I have a role to fill on your tradition. Am I correct?” “More likely we are asking for your help, your majesty.” A serious expression was soon far itched onto the King’s visage. “And what help would it be?” Zachary was straightforward.  “It was about the rogue.” A grim expression replaced his seriousness. And the graveness it has suggested to Zachary that the news wouldn’t come out good too him. He was already expecting the worst. “What it is about the rogue? Are they pestering your Kingdom again.” “Quietly yes.” His word of affirmation made his stomach churned. Rogues as always have always been a bad news, right exactly that they always came to ruin, to kill somebody, and to hunt those oblivious prey, both children and women, who are all unaware about it. They would strike, when they have the chances to do so, and the moment they does, it leave none alive. They all get devoured, and there wouldn’t be any survivor who could tell how it is possible, and to where they may have come from. They were like the hunters. “And I am afraid so that a conspiracy was circulating around the Kingdom.” Luther continued. This seems to have gotten Zachary’s attention. “What kind of conspiracy it may have been?” He asked in pursuit to fill his questions. “There is a rumour that has been going on around that it seems like that the rogues are working alongside with the hunters.” This made Zachary stilled. “It was just a rumour, isn’t it?” He sounded hopeful. “I’m afraid not.” Luther shook his head off. “There are sightings that could possibly pointed out that it was outrageously correct.” Zachary was stunned. Had he never expected how possible it was. Since both rogues and hunters are sworn enemy from before. They were hunted, and killed. Many of the rogues has been annihilated by the hunters. If they were caught, fate wouldn’t be easy for them. It would be doom whom they would end up with. Merciless. It was an utterly cruel mercilessness and so she was confused, confounded as though how possible that they are working together now. It left him baffled, but the fact that they are seen there working together in spite of the dark past they have was much more terrifying. Who knows what they could had been plotting.  “So, what do you wanted us to do with them?” Zachary bring back his attention to Luther.  They are both looking to each other, studying one another’s reaction as they did as if they were trying to read what may have been on their mind.  “I am not sure yet, but they must be stop, if not, who knows what they could had been plotting now that the tradition has been opened.” Luther learned his back to his seat.  He was frowning deeply.  Now because they know that both hunters and rogues doesn’t always mean a good news at all.  @cycy
