HER BLOODLINE

3683 Words
“Her name was Eros too?” She couldn’t believe. The disbelief on her face visible, which able for Lucian to see. “What that supposed to mean?” Her eyes were full of curiosity, filling every fiber of her. She thought she was the only one who had been given with the name Eros. Unaware, totally oblivious that solemnity is what first crawled inside her chest. The walls full of doubt, and here was Lucian, telling her that an Eros exist before she had been created. Craft, and built for the courage catered by her name. Her boldness she could see from the woman’s eyes. Her photograph mirrored as her fierceness, fearless will as she carries the burden on her shoulder. “Does that mean I am not the only Eros?” She breathed out. The pools of her eyes, where curiosity loom was becoming more intrigue. It was just she was dumbstruck by the truth, and she couldn’t just bring herself to sealed her mouth shut and tight. She needed answer. She have a lot of questions in mind. Lucian’s lips twitched, and stretched into a small smile. It was as if she reminded him of the Eros he knew. That particular woman, who always wanted to seek after something she couldn’t understand, and she won’t stop there until she couldn’t find what it is. Thus far, her fate is cruel. But haven’t had Lucian saw that Eros on his memory by far cries. She may have mourns, but it is not because of herself or to what misfortune she may befall upon afterwards. She shed tears for the fallen warriors who offered their life for peace, Her anguish for the corpses of those who perish. Those lives she couldn’t save, because they were beyond her power. A broken soul mold to wage victory against evil, trying to fix those, while she couldn’t fix herself—while she us unable to do the same thing for her. He knew those, because he was there, when she was suffering on those torments. Afflicted through, the droplets of tears as she annihilated those cruel creatures. They may have been viewed as an angel, but at the same time, they were told to kill. The memories came back on his head as an avalanche. He was taken way back to how history impaired, tainted the present with futuristic wars. “Stand on your feet!” It was another night, where the sky basks onto those heavy grey clouds. There are no stars that day, neither the luminesce of the moon that could have lead their way. It was just an unending darkness, of blackness bleak conformed the wounded angels. The torches were lighted, and it was the only thing, which provide them the light they seek. Coincide that it seems like there is an upcoming rain. But then, what can they do? They are not on their realm, but rather on another dimension, whereas they had been sent across. An attack of evil creatures they were told to fight. If wolves fight against vampire, of course, the angels had their own war to battle against with. The maintain peace. They restore the balance, since some Goddesses and God oversee something that they should not. One in particular, the human village that was being attack by hounds. Thus far, some wish, hoping to be back on where their abode was. It just didn’t feel right, because they do not belongs on this kind of place. Angels like them should had been affront, watching, guiding those who had been assigned to them. But since turmoil unfolded, and unconcealed chaos introduced themselves, they were force to be trained and lead by the maiden they called Eros. Eros is a woman, but unlike them, she seems unbothered by the scraps, and wounds, fresh and old after their encounter with the hounds. She was standing there in front of them with the same fire, the fiery pit she possesses. The fierceness she would want to share with them. “Stand straight!” She barks order. Commonly her voice would have been sweet, but during this time, it was firm, holding courage she had abolished. From where he is, Lucian trained his eyes to her. Even he was shock; he was somewhat stunned knowing that the newly named Eros he has seen before would be his senior angel. After the naming ceremony, he haven’t seen her again, more importantly because they were given roles, and duties, responsibilities that were a must to fulfil. As a man, they were expected to be strong, because they would be protecting a lot, when the right time comes, and some situation—circumstances asked for it. They needed to hone in order for them to be able to defend their home, it is not just for them, it is for the angels, and for every dimensions underneath their power. Nevertheless, the more Lucian stared Eros, the more he saw, seeing the differences she holds. She was far from that little girl he had been acquainted with before. She was no longer smiling, but her visage possessed a blank stare, of a feisty look and expression to which he could have sworn had been there. The line suggestion that she tend to smile was absence. But what could he expect? Eros grew up to be a strong woman, because it is a must. He was no fool at what her name was. All the angels has been told, foretold stories of the history, which lies on their names. It was just some had gotten something they are not looking forward to have. “If you are going to be weak, and tell yourself that you are.” The flames danced and pooled on her orbs. “Then you will only make yourself believe into such foolish idea.” There was a shortly paused. She heaved a deep sigh, and Lucian could see how weary she was, but she did not show it. “Had you forgotten our bothers…our sisters, who offered their life? The arrows pierce them, the claws of those evil beings they had been beheaded with unfold on our eyes.” There is a murmur around. The sudden reminder seems to woken them up, although they are almost seems defeated. Some angels had taken severe injuries. If not bite marks, their wings has been tore apart, and wounded—with that state, it makes unable to fly. It was just a relief that they were given a healing ability, but a few of them only possessed it. Given that their number is large, a few wont be able to heal majority of them. “But the hounds seems like they could fight against our light.” One angel step ahead. It was a male, who was covered by some wounds, old wounds, which are both small and large. He was bulky. He was tall in height. He was much large than Eros, yet his features, they are soft, same with them, the man was clad on a hard metal armor made from the monster they had annihilated. Skin that were weaved and shells which protect their chest from being attack at the midst. It ensured the safety of their chest, as there are some holy objects, which could kill them, annihilated their souls without any chance given to be resurrected again. Same with the other beings, they have their own weakness as well. But one of the worst thing, whereas an angel could suffer from is that for their soul to get devoured. “They may have the ability to fight against us, but you have forgetting something.” Eros meet the angel’s eyes. “We have faith, we have the Supreme Gods watching over us—“ “If we have them, then where are they?” The angel locks his eyes with her. “We had been battling for their name, but not even once had they aid us. I am not questioning their authority neither power, what I am asking was our Lord’s presence, Eros.” Eros did not answer first. But what he said true. At the beginning of the war they had been sent, neither had Lucian saw one of the Supreme. Unbeknownst to them that the God’s are facing a much more difficult time. They are not sent there to die, but to survive something, a storm brewing, the hounds that could either diminish their will to live, and be the warrior as they has been expected with. To where the home they though was safe, a turmoil was growing much worst than what they are facing. Canna, the Goddess of chaos was there, and her visit doesn’t means well. On accords to her title, she brings disaster, a Goddess who had been imprisoned yet miraculously escape. Her sins that the God couldn’t forgive her is what the judgement that lead her on that place. The Abyss. “Ah, it feels good to be out!” Canna chuckled. She was grinning, on each hand flames erupted from her. Her palms that were both filled with blazing flame, which is one of her ability. There are screams, a series of thuds as the angels, much younger, and the unnamed new created runs. They were running for their life. It was an unexpected event. It was just a normal day for them, they did not foresee the bad omen, neither they had seen her coming. Canna just came out of nowhere. No warnings. Nothing to tell about her escapade. “And it was better to see you all trembling with fear!” She chuckled, before the flames on her hand were sent to destroy, ruined halls she embarks and the destruction her name calls off. They could understand their grudge, but never the fact of her cruelty she ahs unfolded. She looks merciless, more evil. Same with them, before she become a Goddess of chaos, Canna was create, a sweet child borne from Sol’s magic. His enchantment, which made it possible for him to, fathered a child, and it was not only Canna, who existed, and thrives towards the life he gave. However, Canna, the more she gets older, the more she was becoming more ambitious. She was never contented. She wanted more than what the dimension could give her, even towards the extent of robbing the Supreme Go’s power to wherein she definitely failed. And her crime means treason. To make her lament, and regret her deeds, Sol alongside with Solas, and Solaris sent Canna to be chained to where she should be. Her uncontrollable berserk that would be contain on the Abyss. But today, she was there again. She was resuming to where she had left from before her cells. As she laughs, and chuckled in pure bliss, Sol, her father shows up. “Canna.” His voice boomed with thunder. He does not looks happy as he saw the destroyed halls, and the angels clambering on their feet. His wrathful visage faced her, but she seems not to be affected by his presence, the mockery on her face was still there, and her grin widens. “I didn’t know you would be here today father.” Canna’s mockery only fueled the God’s rage. “Are you not just going to greet me? We had been part from ages, oh, was that eons? I couldn’t remember, nor recall, when had you throw me as if I was just a mere trash! Was it because of my dream? You are so selfish father!” She was changing the tone, her voice was. From high pitched to low, from maniacal and being deranged. “You should have given me the throne! It belongs to me!” She added, balling her fist. “Nothing belongs to you.” The thunders roared on the sky as he speak. They are there, present as he came face to face with her. “Oh, right.” Canna brushed her hair, and put the loose strands behind her ears. “Of course, nothing belongs to me, because they belongs to you, aren’t they? You have always been selfish. You may deny it, but I can see through you. I can read you like an open book—” But Canna did not have the time to finished what she is saying, when Sol cut her off. “You may be able to read me, but never the goodness I was trying to share with you.” The pain was visible on the tone of the God’s voice. “Where did I go wrong? What did I do wrong, Canna?” He was mourning. He may be a God, but Sol also has some emotion. He shed tears, and cries for failing to guide her. She may have been somebody who not came from his blood, but Sol had a portion of himself to her in hope that she will be good Goddess just like his other child. However, how wrong he is. Canna have something on her that he failed to noticed. Ann evil blood he didn’t know where might have came from or was it because she was thriving for the same power that he have? He treated her fairly. He made no exemptions, but perhaps, same with others, Canna has been blinded and corrupted by her visions to become a Supreme God himself. “Don’t you dare appeal to my emotions, father!” She warned him. Canna bared her teeth as if she were like those wolves that are facing their enemy. Yet given the fact, Canna saw Sol on her perception as somebody, who would stop everything she was aiming for. She didn’t know what’s wrong with it. Canna was still submerge towards her hallucinations of being a God in comparable with the three Supremes. Because if she had been then she would become strong, the land would fear her, and even monarch, both King and Queen, princes and princesses would lower their head she walk just like what the mirror keeps telling her. The magical mirror, whom she could consider as a friend. Oblivious at the deception it was putting her from. The love she had for her father that it has poisoned. Canna was really a sweat child, an innocent young maiden that were admired by many. She is what whom they would often called as somebody who could not even harm a fly. Delicate fingers, and her smile which offered such gentleness that some angels could only see to her. One of the reasons why it left them stunned and stupefied, when Canna was punished for committing treason. It was one of the heavy crimes to which had nobody dared to do. Since the Abyss does not only offer darkness and to be imprisoned as they were hold accountable for their crimes. It has monsters, monstrous being who wont be seen lingering on the land. They are grotesque creatures, the evil amongst those evil beings ever created—not through magic, but they are born from the negative energy, from the blackish souls who seek for their aid in exchange of their life and breathe. But it doesn’t only end there as it was filled by unknown inferno, the flame that could harm even the immortal, it could make the suffer. It was capable to burnt them, but never towards the extent of killing them. “I am not, I am just asking you, my child.” Solemnly eyes meet her angry ones. “I just wanted to know what happened.” “I told you, it was your own selfishness—“ But he cut her off. “Or was it because of your greed?” Sol’s lips were on a straight thin line. “You wanted more than what I had given to you. Your thirst for power is what put you there, Canna.” If she is mad, he was more than angry. His angst fury, which match hers. “Is that the sole reason, why you choose to harm my children? They were like your sister, and your brother yet you dare only to add up to the crimes you have done in the past.” But no matter what he says, Canna seems to have been deaf from the words he was trying to woke her up with. “I do not have brothers, or sisters.” It was venomous. She puts an emphasis to each word. They were like a poison on her tongue she spit with fire. “Canna, can you hear yourself now?” Sol asked her. “I am, and I was here to kill you.” She said firmly. Sol never tore his eyes off from her. He is watching her, wondering, and pondering about a lot of decision. She may have been his children, and so was the angel she harmed, and Sol wouldn’t tolerate her action, not even once as what he did before. “If that is your goal—“ He paused, and said. The words came out strange from his lips as they rolled on his tongue. “And if you are considering me as you enemy, then you will be my foe as well, Canna.” “Then so be it.” With heavy hearts, the two clashed. They were like a pair of flame dancing against each other, a dangerous precipice that could have leaved one dead. The other brings goodness, and the latter bring the darkness they had. They were like two swords in contempt, but no matter how much Sol denies it, he still cares for her, and he have no heart to even lay a hand to Canna. They keep missing, Sol keeps avoiding his advances but what he said next had almost caught him off guard. ‘Did you know why I manage to escape?’ She said on his mind. Of course as a God, they are able to talk using their mind. ‘I am wondering as well, why.’ He responded to her. Canna laughs as she missed his side, the flame almost burnt a part of Sol’s clothing. ‘I seduce the devil. It’s funny, isn’t it?’ Their deeds could go against with a karma.’ She licked her lips, as if proud to what she had done. ‘You are a Goddess, don’t you feel ashamed?’ Sol rolled his own flames to coil it around her, but Canna was quick. She was moving swiftly, which Sol did not wander more. Canna has been training underneath him. For years, she was honed. Her ability, which made her stronger than the other angels. ‘I am not, but guess what I did?’ Her grins widened. ‘I am feeding your children towards the hounds I sent.’ ‘Canna—!’ Sol was stupefied; his movement suddenly becomes slower as she confronted him with the truth. Canna grins. She is waiting for this opportunity. Her flames take over the dominion of the fight. “Goodbye, father.” She said, but she had celebrate much early. The moment she was ready to burnt Sol alive, a whipped last out and wrapped around her, binding her entirely and so she couldnnt move an inch. “What--?!” She was dumbstruck, until her eyes narrowed; knowing exactly to whom it may have belongs to. “Solaris!” Therefore, the other Supreme God showed himself. “Hello, Canna.” Solaris calmly stated, but what he only earned was her glare, and loathsome gaze. But he pay no heed. His eyes drifted across to Sol, who was still shock. “I know you had told us not to interfere, but we couldn’t watch this shameless child. How dare she become a Goddess?! How could she dreamt of being a Supreme?!” Solaris did not bother to hide how much Canna had angered him. His chest, which could have exploded, because of the intensity of his emotions fueled by the words, lies and truth spouting from her lips. “Because I can!” Canna screamed, but her struggles are fruitless. Futile effort as Solaris lashes do not offer an y escape. “Well too bad—“Solaris raised his eyebrows to her. “I will make sure that you won’t be a Supreme God, neither would you have the ability to escape.” With that said, a magic circle appeared underneath of Canna. Her eyes widened. How cans he not be familiar with it? “What are you doing?!” Canna tried to struggled more, but she was continuously failing. “Solaris…” Sol trailed off. “You are a God, and you know that it is a must.” With that said, the latter shut down his orbs, and began chanting an old scripture, a sealing magic that could entrapped Canna for eons. “W—what—...” Even she knows what it is. Canna’s eyes drifted across to look at Sol. Unlike earlier, they were soft, begging, and pleading for him to save her, but Sol only looks away. It pained him, but like what Solaris said, it should be done. If he cannot do it, he will. As it happens. Sol turned blind-eyed from her calls. He ignored everything so forth. He closed his eyes as the blinding light became more bright, leading for the ground to shook, and so her screams fade slowly. Canna was gone. His child he failed to guide towards the light. “That’s what happened before?” Eros jaw dropped after listening to what Lucian told her. “I didn’t know such thing happened!” She added. Lucian chuckled at her reaction. “But they did, Eros.” He said after he looks back to the photograph hanging on the wall. “Can you tell more?” Eros asked, she was like a child, when she do not. “Do you want to?” “Yes.” She vigorously nodded her head. And so Lucian told her another timeline, but this time…it was her, unbeknownst to the history, which lies in Salem. @cycy
