The Next Day

Michael's Point of view

After freezing for 15 minutes and actually being able to feel cold again, I got my clothes back on. How were her mother and her children going to react to my new state of being? Would they still like me? Only one way to find out. After what seemed like 40 minutes, she called me into the kitchen.

"So, you see he is no longer a ghost. He is human again."

"What does this mean? Is Cordelia coming back? Are the grandchildren in danger?"

"Honestly, mother, I really can't answer those questions, she disappeared."

She was right, Cordelia had disappeared. What did it mean for us and the children? All I knew then was after that night I couldn't let anything happen to them. I had been granted a new life, and I was going to do it right this time.

"Before we get ahead of ourselves, I have a few things I want to do. Cordelia will be back and I know you have been trained, but I feel you may need more or at least some help when she does come back. Therefore I would like to invite your tutor to come and stay on the property with us until Cordelia is dispatched."

"I would love for Angelique to come and stay, but I have no idea how to contact her. She told me once that her cottage moves to where she is needed, so I don't even know if I can find her."

"Did you say Angelique? Like my old school teacher?"

"Yes, why?"

"I had no idea she was alive. Wait that isn't possible unless.."

"Yes, Michael, she is a witch, a very old one, and taught Anna and Cordelia."

"I guess I should have known, but alas I did not see."

"You never did want to see Michael. That's why Cordelia's spell worked and why Anna left you. It is also why you haven't figured out who Freya is or why you have loved her from the moment she moved in here."

"Angelique!"

"Hello Freya."

"What do you mean, Angelique? What do I not see now?"

"Freya is Anna's reincarnated soul. What was left of Anna has brought you back with a new life and with new gifts."

"New gifts? What do you by new gifts? I still feel like myself. I still look like myself."

"She has made you a wizard or warlock, whichever term you prefer. She has done this to help you protect yourself. As for the invitation, i accept and will train both of you."

"Oh. thank you Angel."

"Angel?"

"I thought a nickname would be good for you, do you not like it?"

"No, Freya on the contrary, I like it a lot. It's just not a nickname I have heard in a long time."

Angelique"s Point of View

It really had been a while since someone had called me Angel. It had been since 1659 when King Louis the 14th called me Angel for the last time. My first real heartbreak, when he told me he was to marry Maria Theresa of Spain to end the war. Anyway. I can't believe Anna's soul had given Michael the witchcraft ability. I never would have pictured him, the neigh sayer of witchcraft, actually becoming one. Oh, well, guess that's Karma for you. In the days that passed, Freya grew exponentially stronger, while Michael struggled with his inner morals to even light a fire magically. However, after a month had passed, he came to me with a question.

"Angelique, can you please help me in this new century and find my mother's ring? I want to propose to Freya with it but Anna had it with her when she left town."

"It does not matter how many times I say you can call me Angel, your still going to call me Angelique, aren't you?"

"You know I still can't be improper like everyone in this century."

"I know, anyway, I can help you with that task. Anna left the ring in the possession of her husband, a doctor William Hammond, to give to their son Graeme when he was ready to marry. He then passed it down to his daughters and so on. I met with one of them on the journey to enlightenment and said how I admired her ring and would pay handsomely for it. She agreed, and it now sits in my jewelry case in my cottage just outside."

"I never read any news about Anna. How do you know this?"

"Anna changed her name when she left here. I kept up with her to keep her out of trouble and to train any future heirs that may contain her powers. I was also hoping an heir might break your curse."

"Does that mean Freya is related to Anna?"

"Actually, no, she isn't related to Anna at all. I was very surprised when she showed up at my door. I had been looking for a reincarnation or an heir for a while, and you sent her to my door without knowing why."

"So if she isn't related, how did she become a reincarnation?"

"We are still unsure how reincarnation works, since some of us can live for hundreds or thousands of years before we choose to grow old and die. Though most who do choose that have found their soulmates."

"So soulmates do actually exist?"

"Yes, which is why some of us live so long, but I've never come across a couple who were both magically gifted."

"You mean there has never been a pairing like ours?"

"It's unknown and, as far as I know, forbidden."
