Chapter 3 - The Next 24 Hours!

Noah’s POV

Doctor Ron is telling us we need to shower to take off all the dirt and blood we have on us. He’s giving one of the nurses instructions to take us to one of the other rooms with a bathroom in it near our mate’s room. Although we haven’t said she’s our mate, I have a feeling he knows, because of how we reacted.

At the moment we don’t care if anyone finds out. We care if she makes it through the night. The sparks I felt when I held her were everything you could imagine and I wouldn't want to lose her now that I found her. As the same nurse, whom I didn't get to register her name at the moment, is taking us to the rooms, one for me and the other for my brother, she’s telling us exactly what we need to do.

“Alphas, you'll need to shower. Make sure to rinse well and take all the dirt and blood off after drying yourselves. Please, put these on. They’re the only things we have at the moment that’s clean. I will wait for the both of you to come out to let you guys inside.”

Elijah and I go inside and do exactly what she told us to do. I need to thank her for everything she’s doing. I don’t know what’s going on in Elijah’s mind, but I do know what’s happening in mine. I took off the shorts that I had on and got in the running water that I started. I didn’t wait for it to get warm or hot, choosing to just get right in. I wanted to just get this shower over with, so I could go in the room and be by her side.

‘Moon Goddess, please, you just gave her to me. Please, don’t take her. Not now. I am begging you, I will be better than I was before.’

Elijah’s POV

All I was thinking was about my mate. I just got her and I won’t be okay if I lost her. I sent a silent prayer to the Moon Goddess, letting her know that I wouldn’t be able to be okay if I lost my mate. My brother and I have been waiting for her for two years and I know I didn’t wait for her. I had needs, needs that every wolf had. I had told myself that I would learn to love someone. I know I had given up on ever finding my mate.

I had even started planning on choosing a chosen mate, even though my wolf wasn’t with it. He kept nagging me to just wait a little longer, but with my needs I didn’t wait. I know what year we were in. Nowadays, we didn’t wait for our fated mates and ended up picking a chosen mate. I have an on-and-off girlfriend or should I say I had a girlfriend. Now I needed to break it off completely with her. I only have eyes for one.

Yes, I know it sounds crazy, but I feel this pull towards her and I’m going with it. If I don’t, I know my wolf will take completely over my body and not let me f**k around with someone else who isn’t our mate. With that being said, I know I wouldn’t want to be with anyone else, but her. That’s a promise that I’ll keep.

I finished showering, so I could go to see her. I can’t think of anything else, but her health. I get dressed in the scrubs that the nurse gave me. I walked out of the room to see Noah waiting impatiently for me. The nurse took us inside the room where our mate was. She stopped us and told us that we might see her in a way we don’t want to see anyone.

As soon as we both walked inside, we saw what the nurse meant. Our mate was hooked up to a monitor that shows her heart rate, breathing and blood pressure. She also had a ventilator that was attached to a tube that was inserted into her mouth that went down into her windpipe,that was helping her breathe.

The nurse told us that Doctor Ron had to put her in a medically induced coma, because she lost a lot of blood and was on the brink of death. There’s also a bag of blood that she’s getting. Noah and I pulled up a chair and picked a side. I picked the right, he picked the left side, before we sat down and held her hands.

Doctor Ron came into the room to check the monitors and told us the reason that he put her in a medically induced coma. He also told us that she will wake up on her own, to just wait for her to heal and have enough blood in her system since she lost a lot. Now, Noah and I are waiting. These 24 hours would be something different for both of us.

I linked our parents to tell them what was going on, since we hadn’t reported to our father about the rogues on the northside of our territory. I know that both of them have been trying to link us. I even got a mind link from our beta and gamma. They didn’t get through to me, because I had them blocked and I know that Noah did as well.

When I mind linked my mother, she told me to just breathe, that she would be here in a few minutes and not to worry. She would bring us some food and everything else we needed. I didn’t tell her who she was. I just told her we found someone and we are waiting for her to wake up, so we could question her. I told her that she wouldn’t be able to go inside the room due to the high risk of infection. She told me not to worry about it and not to worry about telling my father, she would let him know.
