Noah’s POV continued

‘Mate…’

‘Mate…’

‘Mate…’

‘MATE NEEDS HELP.’

Save mate now…,’ he growled.

‘Nax, how do you know it’s mate?’

‘Ugh, stupid human! Don’t you feel a pull? Don’t you smell that amazing smell mixed in with fear and blood? Why are you always so stupid? Why did the moon goddess, my mother, pair me with you?,’ Nax grunted. ‘Just for once in your stupid life do what I say. Both Eliot and I are certain that mate is around!!’

‘Okay, Nax I believe you…’

Elijah’s POV

Eliot has been driving me crazy and I don’t know why. He won’t tell me and then it hit me! It hit me like a train wreck. That’s when I understood my wolf. The wind blew a sweet delicious smell towards me, but it wasn’t alone. I smelled fear, blood and the smell of rogues. Someone is in danger or should I say, my mate? My mate is in danger.

Getting a mindlink from my twin brother only confirmed my thoughts. We might have found our mate and she was in danger. That sweet delicious aroma smelled like strawberry shortcake and chocolate chip pancakes, which are my favorites. The smell kept getting stronger the faster we ran. I’m running and I see my brother, Noah, run just as fast as I am. He has a panicked face, but tries to keep it stone like with no emotions, not letting any feelings out.

As we both get closer, we see this beautiful girl that’s running, but trips over a branch. I guess she didn’t even notice the branch, because she kept looking behind her. As we were already in our wolf forms, we sprinted to the rogue wolves. As we acted, we saw two of the rogues attack her. One used his claws and clawed her leg making a large gash while the other one scratched one of her arms. We see her go limp.

Now, if we don't hurry and end these four rogues, our mate won't make it. She's bleeding a lot. We let our wolves take full control and just in time we finished two of the rogues while the other two were about to attack her again! But they don't get the chance to get close to her, as we both launch ourselves at them and end them quickly. Our wolves give us control. As Noah goes and picks her up bridal style, I mindlink the pack doctor to get ready for us as we have someone who's injured and needs medical help.

We start running towards the pack house hospital. We both feel that she won't make it as we can hear her heartbeat slowing down. It's a sign that says she's lost a lot of blood and if we don't hurry we can lose her. And we both don’t want that. We waited two years for her and now that we found her, we won't let anything else happen to her. I can see the pack hospital and just like that we can feel hope.

As Noah runs a bit faster, he hands her over to the pack doctor by putting her on the hospital bed and we stand there close to her, not wanting her out of our sight. As the doctor started to do everything that he needed to do in order to help her, Noah and I growl at him. The doctor forces us out of the hospital room so he could focus on saving her life. We try to go back inside, but one of the nurses tells us that we need to stay out here, in order for them to do their jobs.

We both start to pace back and forth. My hands were on my hair, pleading to the Moon Goddess that she won't take her away from us. We just found her and we can’t lose her! NOT TODAY, NOT TOMORROW AND NOT EVER. I started to look at the door that my mate is behind and I felt water running down my cheeks, not realizing that I am actually crying. As I’m about to wipe the tears off of my face, we see the door open and the doctor comes out. I can’t read his expression and that along with my brother’s heightened emotions, make me worry.

“Doc is she..” I can’t even finish my sentence, thinking about it. It didn’t sit right with me or my wolf. The doctor stops in front of us to tell us that she lost a lot of blood and that the next 24 hours were crucial. He tells us if we want to see her, we need to do a few things before going inside. She’s at high risk for catching an infection.

“Remember, Alphas, you’ll both need to try to keep calm. Don’t let your wolves take over, do not lose control. I know that I am just the doctor here and I shouldn’t even be giving you guys any orders, but for the best of the patient, you’ll both need to do everything that I say. Let me also tell you that you both can go inside and see her. You can stay with her and hold her hands, so you can calm Nax, Eliot and yourselfs down.

The both of you need it. Don’t scare her. She smells like she's human and might not know anything about our world. Also, please, remember if she wakes up before time, she might be scared and panic. Alphas, you can both go in, but right after you do everything I told you guys. Please, follow everything and do please wash every piece of your bodies.

Sorry, alphas. You both can follow the nurse, she will take you to the rooms, so you can shower. If she wakes up and you both aren’t here, I’ll mindlink you both right away. Now, if you can excuse me, I have to get back to my rounds.”

"Thank you, doc,” we both said at the same time.”

Noah lets out a sorrowful howl and I do the same.
