Chapter 4 - The Dream

1137 Words
Rose POV I attempted to open my eyes, but all I could see around me was pitch black. As I tried to look around, the darkness gradually transformed into a stunning green forest. It seemed like I was in a forest at night. Everything was surrounded by this beautiful waterfall and in the middle of everything I saw a figure. I didn't feel fear. I started to walk to it as I started to feel like everything around me was okay, that everything would be okay. I didn’t have to suffer anymore. I might be dead? Is this how it feels to be gone? No more pain, no more suffering, no more running away from him. I stopped as soon as I saw the figure turn around to look at me. Wow! She was stunning. I let out a gasp. I was surprised. Why would I be next to this beautiful woman? She had long white hair and wore an even longer white dress. She looked like a goddess. Who was she? “Why am I here? Who are you?” “My child, come sit,” she said. I walked to the tree trunk that she pointed to and sat down. As I waited for her to speak again, I kept looking at her. I couldn’t keep my eyes off of her. She really was gorgeous. “My child, I’ll answer any questions you have after I tell you something important. I can’t tell you everything, because it’s just not something I can do, but trust me is all I say and trust in the two people who saved you.” “Excuse me? Am I not dead?” “No, my child,” she said as she laughed. “Now, let me tell you why I brought you here, then you can ask me any questions and if I can answer them I will. I know that you have been through a lot. The pain of losing your parents at that age and the hurt your uncle caused. Let me just tell you, I am sorry for what he did. I wish I could have stopped it, but as you know I can’t and couldn’t stop it. I can’t intervene., but this time I need to tell you that you’re in danger and you shouldn’t run. You’ll need help. I want to start by telling you a secret that you should have known your whole life. Your parents didn’t get the chance to tell you what you are.” “Wh..” I didn’t get to finish my question as she stopped me. “My child, your mother was a werewolf.” I gasped and laughed. “Oh, I know that you’re joking, there’s no such thing as wolves that can shift into humans. That’s only in the books I’ve read.” The woman chuckled. “Let me introduce myself. I am the Moon Goddess. Now, let me finish, because we don’t have a lot of time left. Your father is a vampire. You’re a hybrid. You’ll be able to shift into a wolf and you’ll be able to connect with your vampire side. You’ll be able to speak to both of them and you’ll need to learn how to work with both of them. Yes, it will be hard, but I believe in you, there’s something else you’ll have a mate or mates. Mates are part of your soul. You’ll feel an instant connection to them. I’m only telling you this, because when you wake up you’ll feel some changes in you. Before your mother was killed, she was able to ask a witch to suppress your wolf and vampire sides until you found your mate. Now that you found your mates, the spell you had on you will be broken. It will break when your eyes land on them. The last thing I have to say is that I need you to tell your mates there’s a war coming. You all need to practice and be prepared for this war. Now, ask me your questions, before you have to go back.” I was stunned into silence. All the questions I had were gone or so I thought. “War? What war? Why am I involved?” She answered me with, “my child, you are important, because you are one of a kind. You’ll have some powers in you that everyone wants and your father is an important person that everyone wants to be gone. That is all I can tell you. The war is happening, because they have been looking for you and want to use you for your powers. You can ask me one more question before I have to let you go.” “Who can I trust?” “Trust your mates,” she said. “Okay, now you must go, it’s time for you to wake up.” “No..,” but before I could finish she was gone, the beautiful green forest was gone and darkness consumed me once again. There was this annoying beeping sound that started to irritate me. I moved my head slowly to see where the sound was coming from. I tried to open my eyes, but they felt heavy. They felt like they were glued shut together. I kept repeating ‘open your eyes’ until my body finally decided to listen. I know I tried to open my eyes for the last two days straight. Every time I got close to opening my eyes, I got tired and had to give myself a break. I finally got my eyes open just to have to shut them once again. The light around me was too bright. It was so bright that it hurt to look at. I slowly opened them again, just to see the light had dimmed down a bit. I looked around and saw a doctor, or at least I thought he was the doctor due to his white lab coat. He looked up from his clipboard and smiled at me when he noticed I was looking at him. He gave me a genuine smile and it was contagious, so I smiled back at him. “Hey, I’m Dr. Ron and I’m your physician. How are you feeling?,” he asked. I tried to speak, but my throat felt so dry it hurt to speak. Dr. Ron noticed, walked over to me and gave me a glass of water. “Take small sips,” he said. I took small sips and my throat started to feel amazing as I quenched my thirst. I gave him back the empty glass and spoke to him. “Thank you for that! I am feeling much better. Where am I? How did I get here? Where is this? What happened?,” I asked him.
