Gina watched Seth leave the kitchen before she turned to Connor. She stared at him trying to find the words she wanted to say. He looked so familiar, and yet he didn’t seem the same boy she went to school with.
He grinned. “A pic would last longer.”
Gina laughed. “I wasn’t admiring, I was trying to ask you something.”
“So ask.”
Gina glanced away. “There’s a rumour at school that your longest relationship is two weeks.” She forced herself to meet his gaze. “Does Ashley know that?”
“I’m glad to know you don’t hear all our conversations.”
“I try not to. Why?”
“Because if you did you might be having this talk with Ashley and telling her not to break my heart.” His flippant tone became serious. “We know what we’re doing, Gina.”
