Chapter Twenty-Eight
The next morning they sat in the four-wheel-drive as they waited for the right time. Seth finished sending an email to Nicholas, giving him details of schools and parents that needed to be spoken to and what each should be told. He glanced up and did a scan of the area.
“See anything,” Connor asked.
Seth shook his head as his gaze returned to his laptop.
Connor shifted in the driver’s seat. “It’s all right for you, Lilly. You’ve got something to do. The rest of us are sitting here bored.”
“You wanna make out.” Ashley grinned at Connor.
Seth glanced up. “Please. Spare us.”
Ashley laughed. “I was just wondering if you were paying attention.”
“Cruel and heartless to get my hopes up like that.” Connor tried to look mortally wounded.
