Chapter Thirty-Five
“Can you all hear me?” Ashley asked the moment her earpiece was in place.
Connor rolled his eyes. “I’m standing right next to you, Ash. What do you think?”
Ashley gave him a look. “You know exactly what I mean.”
“We can hear you.” Seth looked around. “Any ideas on directions?”
Connor shrugged and Gina mimicked his action. In every direction she listened she heard movements, heartbeats and conversations.
“Okay, let’s split into teams,” Seth said. “Gina and I will head north west, you two can head south west.”
“What if he’s trying to make us think he’s headed west and is actually heading east?” Ashley asked.
“Then we’ll try that direction next.” Seth turned to Nicholas. “Try and clear out the area for us.” He strode north west before Nicholas could reply.
