One True Mate- Chapter 10

Chapter 10 Evie

I think they expected to scream, yell or run away, but instead I just muttered and nodded.

“Ok” I blew out a breath “Ok, I just kissed a werewolf. Bet a lot of people can say that” I ran my hand through my hair, my bangs landing in front of my left eye. Julian chuckled bringing his hand up to my eye and moving my bangs aside behind my ear.

“What’s so funny?” I asked

“huh, not what I expected” Dom muttered, Julian chuckled again staring at me

“me either. Perfect” I raised an eyebrow. Dom clapped his hands, bringing us back to the present.

“I’m assuming you have a lot of questions. So why don’t we get the heck out of this forest and go somewhere safer?” Dom asked, Julian shook his head, snapping to attention, he eyes changed and went hard.

“ Right let’s get outta here, my place is safer. “ Julian grabbed my hand and turned to walk back to the parking lot. I planted my feet and pulled back.

“No I have to go home, the twins are by themselves” Julian turned to me, pulling me towards him slamming me into his chest so our faces where centimetres apart.

“No you stay with me, where it is safe, you will not leave” he commanded.

“excuse me? You don’t own me” I tore my hand from his, his features changed

“Mine.” He growled again.

“Uh last time I checked I’m my own person.” I shot back.

“Ok both of you stop! Julian calm your s**t, Evie you want answers the only way you are gonna get them is to come with us.” Dom pointed at both of us. I looked between the boys, weighting my options. If I ran they would no doubt catch me. And I had a feeling neither of them had a problem with dragging me to the car kicking and screaming.

Julian took a breath “please come with us? “ he begged. Damn this guy’s hormones are so out of whack. I nodded, I wanted answers, but if I was being completely honest with myself, I didn’t want to leave Julian either.

As we walked back to the car Julian kept his arm around my waist, I let him, every time I moved even an inch away he tensed, waiting for me to run. Both boys stayed red alert until we were in the parking safety of Julian’s car, he lead me over to the passenger seat of his car.

“ I can sit in the back if you and Dom need to talk.” I offered, his eyes went hard then he took a breath.

“No that’s ok, please sit beside me?” I nodded slipping into the seat once I was in he shut the door, running around to the other side as soon as his butt in the seat he grabbed my hand holding it tightly in his. I flinched and he loosened slightly mumbling a ‘sorry’

 He rubbed circles on the back of my hand with his thumb. It was oddly soothing, I sunk back in the seat, relaxing for the first time in what seemed like forever. We drove down many twisting roads Julian explained it was to make sure no one followed us. Finally we pulled into a dirt driveway, the car bouncing as we hit rocks.

Julian parking in front of a large house. He slipped out of the car and was at my door before I got my seatbelt off. He opened my door and helped me out. Dom was on his other side. I turned to the house to see the front door open, and older man about Alan’s age stood there he had the same jet black hair as Julian, he was built for someone of his age. He wore sweatpants and a T-shirt, half lens glasses on his face. A small figure of a women slipped beside him, she must be Julian’s mom.

“What took you so long?” the women glared at Julian as we walked up the steps.

“we took the long route, I wanted to make sure no one was following us.” Julian explained. His parents moved aside so we could enter. Julian walked us straight into the living room “I’ll give you a tour later.” He whispered to me.

Julian pulled me onto a goerous red couch that looked like it cost more the Alan’s whole house. He pulled me close to him and kissed the top of my head. I pulled back a bit

“Julian I’m fine.” He nodded. His parents sat across from us, Dom on Julian’s other side. I looked at who I assumed was Julian’s mother. She was beautiful, ulike her son and husband . . . uh mate? she had platinum blonde hair pulled up into a messed ponytail, but somehow she still pulled it off. She was wearing a pink house coat. Her eyes matched Julians. I guess beauty runs in the family.

Julian’s father pointed at me “let start with who you are?” he demanded, he seemed pissed, I didn’t do anything, Julian glared at him, but before he could cuss out his father his mother stepped in.

“Well hell John, way to scare the girl, I think she has been through quiet a bit tonight already.” She smacked his arm he turned to her and his features soften he sighed and turned to me. How did they know anything? We hadn’t even told them yet.

“let’s try that again, I am John, this is my Wife Hazel. We are Julian’s parents, and the Alpha and Luna of this pack and you are?”  I raised my eyebrows, so that would make Julian future Alpha . . . right?

“Evie.” I said clearing my throat to try and sound confident. I straighten my spine and shoulders.

“Nice to meet you Evie.” Hazel nodded. “you have been through a lot tonight.” I only nodded.

“And you are . . . my son’s mate?” John asked raising his eyebrow. “but your human” he stated.

“Mate? What the hell are you talking about?” I said looking around at all of them like they were crazy. I just met this guy! Julian sighed

“Dad I hadn’t gotten that far yet.”

“Oh. . . whoops.” I tried to stand up and book it for the door. Julian grabbed my hand

“Please stay, just until we can tell my parents what happened.” I nodded sitting back down. His parents looked back and forth between us, confused. Dom cleared his throat and Julian began the story.

“I called Dom once I knew what was going on.” Julian stated I interrupted.

“How did you call him? You were a wolf?”

“Mind link” was all he said then continued. Great so they read each others minds too? does that mean they can read mine? My head was spinning.

“I must admit” Dom began once Julian was finished “Evie was pretty bad ass! Most girls would have run away screaming and called the police.” I rolled my eyes

“I’m not most girls” I stated

“That for sure” Julian agreed tighten his grip on me I blushed hiding my face in my hair.

“Was it Full Moon pack?” he father asked. Both boys shook their heads

“No, I have never seen these ones before” Julian stated

“Wait there is more than one uh . . .pack here?” I asked.

“Yes there are two we are Scarlett pack, there is also Full Moon pack.”

“Aren’t packs usually pretty far away from each other?” I asked going back to all the supernatural books I read back when I was 13. Julian’s mother nodded

“Yes however, we have a strict territory line, we live in peace . . . mostly” I didn’t touch that one.

“Look it’s getting late, let’s all get some rest.” Hazel stood up. Julian pulled me up with him and I started for the door.

“Where are you going?” he asked, trying to pull me to the stairs.

“Uh  . . . the car, I have to get back to the twins.” He looked at me in awe “What?”

“We got attacked tonight! And you want to leave unprotected?!” he screamed I crossed my arms

“I can take care of myself.” He growled

“Julian, that’s enough, you treat your mate with respect.” Hazel snapped.

“I’m not his mate!” I shouted

“Yes you are!” Julian stated, before we could continue to argue his mother jumped in.

“Alright stop it!” she turned to me “Who are these twins you speak of?” she asked me.

“Their my . . . uh .  . sisters. They are at home alone.” Hazel nodded

“Where’s your parents?” she asked, I didn’t say anything Julian answered for me.

“I put her foster parent in the hospital.” He stated

“You did WHAT!?” Hazel yelled.

“Mom I had to he was . .  . he was” Julian started shaking I grabbed his arm without thinking, trying to sooth him, slowly his tremer stopped.

“Alright this is what we are going to do, I will go back to your house with you, tonight BOTH of us will stay with the twins, we can figure out something else tomorrow.” Julian stated.

“You can’t just demand to stay in my house—“ he cut me off

“Babe, please don’t test me right now. We don’t know what those wolves wanted, or who they are, until we know that I need to know your safe.” As weird as it sounded, I found is sweet, so I just nodded.

“Fine but don’t call me Babe” I warned, Julian smiled

“What about Honey? Angel? Pokey Bear? Oh! What about sexy?” he joked. I rolled my eyes.

“We will have a couple wolves stationed outside the house” John told us with no room for me to argue.

“Dom, head home and fill in your parents. We will see them tomorrow morning to discuss.” With that john waved goodnight and headed to what I assumed was their bedroom. Hazel kissed her son’s forehead then turned to me and smiled sweetly.

“It is very nice to meet you Evie. I look forward to seeing you again.”

With that we headed out the door.
