Max
“Damn… my life is ruined,” I groaned, letting my forehead slam against my locker with a loud thunk.
“What happened, girl?” Gabby asked as she shut her own locker and leaned casually beside me.
“Last night,” I mumbled, still pressing my face to the cold metal, “I had the best freaking night of my life.”
Gabby’s eyebrows shot up. “Oh my gosh. Wait—did you… did you have s*x with Felix?”
“Felix who?” I hissed, pulling back just enough to glare at her.
Her mouth fell open.
“It wasn’t Felix,” I continued, leaning against the locker dramatically. “It was… a s*x god. Way hotter than Felix could ever dream of being.”
I banged my head lightly against the locker again and whimpered. “I should’ve asked his name… or his number… or something. Ughhh!”
Gabby grabbed my shoulders and shook me gently. “Okay, okay—breathe. Start from the top. Weren’t you supposed to spend the night confessing to Felix? What happened?”
I threw my hands up. “I don’t even remember half of it! All I know is I ended up in the hands of a literal god.”
Gabby gasped, eyes sparkling. “And? Was the s*x… really that good?”
I just stared at her.
“Not just good,” I said slowly, seriously, “the word doesn’t even exist yet, Bestie. You’d have to invent it.”
Her jaw dropped.
“I did your stupid suggestion,” I said, pointing an accusing finger at her. “I went to the party. I told Felix I had a crush on him. Then Nathalie poured a drink all over me and humiliated me in front of everyone. Next thing I know, I’m in some stranger’s bed and—” I pressed my palms over my burning cheeks. “—and it was the best first sx anyone has ever f**ing had.”
Gabby let out a low whistle.
“Wow. See? At least you f***ed someone who deserves the title,” she said with a smirk.
But before I could reply, a shrill voice cut through the hallway.
“Well, well, well… if it isn’t the nerdy little crusher b***h,” Nathalie sneered as she sauntered up, arm-in-arm with Felix and trailed by her little vixen squad.
Gabby immediately stepped in front of me, her hands on her hips, glaring daggers at Nathalie.
“Say one more word,” Gabby said coolly, “and I swear I’ll smash your face into this locker.”
Felix stepped forward, frowning. “Hey! Don’t talk to my girlfriend like—”
“Shut the f**k up, you stupid jerk,” Gabby barked, cutting him off.
The whole hallway went quiet as the two sides stared each other down.
Nathalie crossed her arms, clearly annoyed but not stupid enough to push Gabby too far. “Just because your mommy’s the school principal doesn’t mean you run the place, Gabby.”
Gabby narrowed her eyes and leaned in. “Sweetheart, I don’t need my mom’s protection to beat you all into next week. But if you’re so desperate for detention, I’m happy to finish the job there, too.”
That was enough to make Nathalie and her pack finally back down, though not without tossing us a nasty look on their way out.
When they were gone, Gabby let out a little laugh and shook her head.
“This is what happens when you let people walk all over you, Max,” she said as we picked up our books and started toward class. “If I’d been there last night, they wouldn’t have dared to humiliate you like that.”
I sighed, hugging my books to my chest. “Yeah… I know.”
Gabby glanced at me, grinning mischievously now.
“Now…” she said, bumping her shoulder against mine. “Tell me everything about this so-called s*x god of yours.”
…
“So… like, how many times did you guys do it?” Gabby whispered from behind me, leaning over her desk. She hadn’t stopped grilling me about it since we sat down.
“I… I don’t know. I lost count after four,” I muttered under my breath, my cheeks heating.
“Damn, girl. You’re fire,” she snickered.
“Gabby! Keep your voice down!” I hissed, glancing around nervously.
Just then, the classroom door opened and the sound of heels clicking on the floor filled the room.
“Good morning, Mr. Donovan,” Principal Bright said as she walked in, carrying her usual air of authority.
“Good morning, Principal Bright,” he replied politely, standing from his chair.
“Good day, everyone,” she said, turning to face the class.
“Good morning, Principal Bright,” we all chorused automatically.
She nodded approvingly before continuing. “Today, we have a new transfer student joining us. He’s come a long way and will be in your class from now on. Please make him feel welcome.”
Everyone started whispering, craning their necks to see who it was.
“Where is he?” someone in the back asked.
“Nathan… come inside,” Principal Bright called toward the door.
And then—he walked in.
It felt like the world slipped into slow motion.
He was wearing a black leather jacket over a plain white shirt, his dark hair catching the light just right, his lips curved into that same knowing smile that still haunted me from last night.
“Hi, everyone,” he said easily, sliding his hands into his pockets. “I’m Nathan Draven.”
The room fell quiet for a beat — girls blinking, boys frowning — everyone clearly stunned by how… perfect he looked.
But for me?
For me, it wasn’t just about his looks.
Because that was him.
Him.
The s*x god from last night.
My mouth fell open as my stomach dropped to the floor.
Gabby nudged me from behind. “Girl… are you okay?” she whispered.
I leaned back in my chair, my voice barely a breath. “That’s… that’s him. That’s the s*x god from last night.”
Her eyes went wide as she froze. “What?”
“Yes, Gabby. He’s the one,” I whispered again, my face burning.
And then—she gasped, slapped her hand over her mouth, and leaned in close.
“Are you f*****g kidding me?!” she hissed. “You… you f****d my cousin?!”
I turned slowly to gape at her.
“WHAT?!”
And the entire class turned to stare.
