Elizabeth POV:
I was still unsure about what to do when my group was called. As I walked in towards the gym's doors I saw Justin glaring at me.
I honestly didn’t care what he thought or felt anymore. I didn’t want people thinking I pulled some strings to fight her.
The gym had four large square mats that we would be fighting on. Each mat had a referee that would decide when the match was over and who won. A few minutes were given to allow everyone to arrive for the match. Some students were still getting in from other classes or had walked off while waiting. The principal sat at the middle of the judges table and called their names over the intercom. I was waiting patiently when Vivian walked in. She wore a sickening fake smile on her face. Then what was worse, my mate came strolling in. He avoided eye contact with me. I didn’t know much about him. All I knew is that he transferred here a few weeks ago. He stayed to himself and he barely had any scent. Which must mean that he has a very weak wolf.
He took his place on a mat across from mine.
His opponent was already on the mat. He would be fighting a guy that looked way more muscular than him. I honestly wasn’t sure he would have any chance of winning. Then again, combat victory isn’t guaranteed with brute strength alone.
I looked back and focused my attention on Vivian. She shot me a smirk and I had to restrain myself from wacking it from her face.
Our principal, Mr.Burnhart, reminded us of the rules over the microphone.
“ There will be no fatal blows. You may transform into your wolf, or stay in human form. If the referee blows the whistle it means stop. Brutal force will be used if you do not follow directions.” he says before sitting back down.
The whistle was blown letting us know that we may begin. Vivian and I circled each other on the mat. It was easy to figure out her plan, she knew she had no chance against me. She wanted to make me look like the bad guy. I would take it easy on her, although I was not going to give her the satisfaction of winning this. I would lead her on with false hope. People often misunderstood me, they thought that just because I was a rich weregirl that I was weak. Alpha blood still ran through my veins making me stronger than most regular werewolves.
Noise was coming from another mat. A large thud boomed inside the gymnasium.
I was distracted by the surprised gasps coming from the judges. I looked around until my eyes landed on my mate, who had just lifted his opponent and body slammed him with little effort. My jaw dropped, I was beyond surprised. I was beginning to think about rejecting him, since it seemed he had no interest in me and was weak or without a wolf.
“Meena, how is he that strong?! I thought he was a weakling!” I say to her,
Meena whimpered,but stayed quiet.
I wonder what is bothering her.
My thoughts are broken when Vivian lands a successful blow to the left side of my face. It barely hurt, but I decided to exaggerate the pain.
I stumbled back a step and held my face.
“Ow!” I say trying to sound a little whiny and tear up.
Vivian falls for it and I see the corners of her mouth turn up in a wicked smile. She is pleased with herself, I know she has probably dreamed of doing this.
I'm going to draw this match out and play with her mind.
I allow Vivian to land another two successful punches.I intentionally miss twice when I try to attack her.
It is rare that children of alphas are weak, but not underheard of.
Vivian took the bait hook line and sinker. She truly believes that she is stronger than me at this point.
She was openly talking sh*t to me now, she thought she could get in my head. Unfortunately for her I was smarter than I looked.
“No wonder the moon goddess gave Justin to me. She knows how weak you are.” Vivian cackles.
She lands a kick to my side, and I throw myself on the mat,
I fake like I'm out of breath and slowly try to get up.
“ No, I am strong! That's not it.” I say with mock innocence.
Vivian laughs again “Well this has been really interesting. I had planned on taking a beating just to make you look like a monster, but I had no idea you were actually this pittful! It’s a shame, I really looked forward to seeing Justin rip you to shreds for hurting me.”
I couldn’t contain my amusement anymore. I was rolling on the mat in tears from laughter. I wiped a tear from my eyes in time to see Vivians expression. It was a cross between confusion, anger, and horror.
“I’m sorry… Give me a minute.”I say, trying to calm my laughter.
“What is so funny!” Vivian shrieks
“ You think Justin is strong enough to beat me! He won’t even be an Alpha! I out rank him, poor Vivian. You think you have everything over me. Well you don’t, I only dated Justin because he was good looking and football captain. Fear isn’t even in my mind when it comes to him. Both of you are a joke and I’ve had some good laughs over it. I'm ready to end this and move onto better things now. You were amusing while it lasted.” I say with a smug grin.
I feel eyes on me and glance over to see my mate and everyone else watching, and listening intently to the conversation between Vivian and I. Werewolf hearing is very good, so when we are focused we can hear every conversation going on in here. That is if you’re yelling or talking at a normal volume.
“Enough games, it is time to give me everything you’ve got Vivian! Don’t hold back!” I say waving her towards me.
