“ Is this man crazy?” Anthony shouted as he stared at the paper.Adivan sat by his right hand side.He was shaking his head in disbelief.Roland came in and sat beside Adivan
.
“ Anthony what happened. You sounded urgent on the phone”He said.
“Dante has finally stated what he want” Anthony said in a low sad voice.Roland knew something was amiss, Anthony never sounded this sad and hopeless.
“ What does he want?” He asked.
“He wants to get married to our sister”Roland stared at him for a while his eyebrows furrowed.
“ Wait, our sister? Kate?what the hell.”
“He said if we don't give him our sister he would kill father and come for us”Anthomy added.
“ Is he threatening us? Wait does this man know how old our sister is? Kate is just 22 and he is 31, 31 years old.”Roland said
“What do we do?”Anthony asked helplessly.
“ Is that a question? Wait! don't tell me you are contemplating on giving in to his orders. Comon, its kate, do you want her to end up with a man as heartless Dante. He could kill her”Roland said pain filled his voice he could not imagine his sister in Dante's hands
“What do you have me do. Do you want me to leave dad like that?He will die, either ways we are loosing someone”Anthony said.
Roland shook his head and stood up “now let me tell you if you agree just be prepared to go with her because there is no reason I am going to leave our sister to marry a man as cruel as Dante.” he warned.
“ What do you have me do?You think I am happy about his request she is also my sister “
“ If you care for her that much then do something not sell our sister out!”Roland shouted and stormed off.
In Italy.
Dante laided on his kingsize bed with Cassandra. He was caressing her back, drawing circles round it.They just finished having s*x.
“God! You felt so good” Cassie said.
“Hmm” Dante mumured he was thinking of a way to tell Cassie about his decision to get married to Kate. He knew she was going to mad at him but he wanted their mafia. They were the biggest mafia in America if he could have her they would automatically become in-laws thereby making his business run smoothly across Italy and America. She would just be a paper wife, he would still be committed to Cassie.He cleared his throat.
“ Cassie we need to talk” he said tapping her, she had already fallen asleep.
“Dante I need some sleep is almost morning” she said lousy.
“Its important, wake up Cassie” he said tapping her.
“ I am listening”she said lazily.He took a deep breath.
“ I am getting married to Kate,Blair's daughter next week”he said finally.
For a moment silence filled the air.Cassie sat down hurriedly, using the blanket to cover her nakedness.
“ you've got to be kidding me”she said looking at Dante's face waiting for him to tell her he was joking.
“Dante! You are serious?” She shouted when it dawned on her that he was not joking.
Dante sat down bending his head he was too ashamed to look at her.
“ Look Cassie is nothing serious, okay. We are just going to get married so that I can broaden my business to America.That's all. She is not even going to be staying in our house she will be staying in the guest house and….”
“ So that is meant to make me feel happy that you are getting married to a girl and she is going to be staying in the guest house,I am meant to be applauding you for that brilliant idea, right?”she asked her voice was shaking, her eyes were filled with tears.Dante bent his head
“Look, babe….
“ Don't babe me!don't you dare. I dedicate five years of my life to you and you go ahead to marry someone else for your business.And you expect me to take it lightly with you.Can't you ask for something else, does it have to be her. Her brothers even offered some of their mafia to you but you refused only to tell me you want to get married to Kate.Seriously?”she snouted
“ Look Cassie he began. I am not leaving you, I will do everything to make you happy you will still be the first. Its just for business and nothing else. There is no way I am going to leave you, you own my heart” he said in a pleading voice.
Cassie looked at Dante, the only man she had loved her whole entire life.
“ you promise?”
“ I promise, okay. I love you.”Dante said and drew Cassie to himself.
“On one condition. I would plan the marriage and she will be subject to me.”
She said.
“Okay.
“Okay?like deal?” She asked.
“Deal. Common there is no way she will be with me. I love you. Okay”he assured her.
“I love you too” Cassie said. It was the sacrifice she had to make for falling in life with the mafia Don.
Kate knocked on Anthony’s door.
“Come in” He answered and continued writing.It had to be one of this family members or a top official.
“ Brother, Its me” Kate said. Anthony finally turned. He smiled a weak smile. Kate had not talked to him since the day he came back, just usual good morning. He was happy she finally visited him but still sad, his father's life lied on Kate hands and he could not just let her get married to Dante.
“ Hii” he said an awkward silence filled the air.
“ How have you been?” He asked his eyes grew genuinely concerned.
“ Fine. Hope I am not disturbing you?”She said fondling with the helm of her scarf
“ No, no, you are my sister, sit down” he said shutting down his laptop and turning towards her.
Kate sat on the edge of the bed.” Sorry for my behaviour recently, Its just that I missed him so much”she said lowly.
Anthony smiled.” It's okay.I understand you, we all miss him”he said.
