When Colette returned to the Bardot estate, she found Arabella waiting for her inside her chambers. The crimson woman was wearing a shorter scarlet dress, and her long, red wavy hair was braided back into a bun on the underside of her head.
Colette was surprised to see her standing there, and wondered what it was that Arabella wanted.
“Lady Bardot?" she said, blinking in curiosity.
“I've been waiting for your return with bated breath, my little songbird," said Arabella, her lips parting into a smile over her pointed canines. “I take it that you've spoken with Dame Tomas."
“I have, yes." Colette wondered how to word this in a way that wouldn't offend the redhead, so she chose her words carefully.
