Seraphina's POV
It was late afternoon when I finally finished my last report. The office was starting to empty out; most of the employees had already gone home. I stretched my aching back after sitting all day, when the scent of cedar and evening rain once again greeted my senses.
"Still working?" Kaelos' voice sounded from behind me, warm and familiar.
I turned and saw him leaning against the doorframe, his jacket off and his shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows. There was something more relaxed about his posture than earlier that day—perhaps because the office was quieter.
"Just finished," I replied, putting away the last file. "The meeting was very productive. I'm motivated to develop some ideas."
