Archer's latest report lay on my desk like shards of glass reflecting the threat. For three days in a row, border patrols had reported suspicious activity—footprints in places where no one should have been, strange smells lingering in the air, and most worryingly, several pack members reporting feeling watched.
“Darius's expansion is faster than we anticipated,” Archer said, his voice low and full of concern. “Intelligence indicates he has recruited at least twenty new wolves in the last month.”
