“I am a patient man, but you are irrational,” King Wren complained, clenching his fists.
Their relationship had deteriorated since Cord had withdrawn from him. King Auberi’s condition was unknown. This only enraged Wren, who had unleashed his wrath on the castle. All they had heard was Liam had mounted an attack on the palace and the elven king before fleeing. Liam and a handful of survivors returned to the human kingdom.
The household stood in the dining room, which was freezing cold. The walls had been replaced with ice, and the table with packed snow. He wondered if Ophelia changed the castle based on the king’s mood.
