Jason was puzzled, but did what his boss asked and called the police. They weren’t long in arriving. James had explained his plan to Jason and it made sense to him, he knew what to do and then disappeared back into his office. Jason escorted the police out to the helicopter.
A detective introduced himself to Jason, “I’m Lt. Murphy. What happened here?”
“We were attacked,” began Jason. “My pilot had taken me to my house in Long Island. When we got there we were attacked by several heavily armed men. They shot my pilot and killed him, but he got me back here safely before he died. He was a hero. He saved my life.”
“Where in Long Island did the shooting take place?” Murphy asked.
Jason gave him the address. Murphy handed it to one of his officers. “Check on this,” he told him.
