“What are you hiding from me, Mateo?” I asked him.
I felt him stiffen instantly. I knew he was hiding something. Whatever that something is, it’s terrible if he doesn’t want to tell me.
“What are you talking about?” He asked, turning me around to face him.
“I know you are hiding something. When I went to get you after dinner, you were heading to the basement.” I replied, getting away from his hold and sitting down on the bed. He just stared at me with a stoic look.
