Face-to-face with Lucas was nothing surprising, but seeing the man come to her house just a few hours after she came to his room was quite a surprise for Jocelyn.
She blinked briefly, then walked quietly to sit beside her mother.
A few minutes ago, a maid came to her room and called her because a guest wanted to see her. No one said that the guest was Lucas, so Jocelyn had thought that Liam had come to her house.
Lucas looked up and glanced at her. A few seconds later, he looked away—ignoring Jocelyn who was now staring at him intently as if she were asking his purpose.
No one spoke for a few seconds, so Jocelyn decided to speak up. “The maid said that you wanted to see me. What's wrong, Lucas?"
