2 years later, in the Domariel realm...
Kaelyn: 20 years old.
Take me to my death...
Free me from my pain, please...
Kaelyn was shackled in the fiery dungeon. The heat was scorching... Though she got used to it the first week of her treacherous torment. For two years she had been tortured for refusing the Demon king's hand in marriage. She never gave in attacking him when she could.
Kaelyn looked up to see the only face she was glad to see in this hell hole. Tekhan.
She had a small smile plastered on her face. He was the only one who was kind to her. He was the closest thing to a friend she ever had. She would come back to her cell after a day of torture and he would sneak food and drink to her. They may be in a place like hell, but their food sure was good and it gave Kaelyn her strength to carry on.
Tekhan told her the hatred he had of the king. He was a broken demon, his family was slaughter right in front of him. His wife Mayriha and his daughter Freya decapitated, their lifeless bodies r***d all whilst he was made to watch. The reason being, he defied the king and that... Was his punishment.
He spoke of a time in the future where he would raise an army and strike against him. The rage in his eyes unmistakable.
The king was a vile demon that would make satan sound like a f*****g saint. Oh, how she loathed him.
Tekhan wondered about the tattoos that she had on her body she explained she didn't really know though, it didn't matter because it faded leaving no trace of it ever existing.
Although, with her sanity levels being so low she wondered if she made it up or hallucinated.
Tekhan passed her a tray of fruits and vegetables and what looks to be a nice cut of steak and thick cut chips. You would think that they would eat their victims alive but they are actually very civilised. Her mouth watered at the sight of it. Her stomach growled loud enough for Tekhan's eyebrows to raise. He was a handsome demon, she would give him that.
"Thank you, Tekhan. " She mumbled the sound barely audible through her mouth full of food.
He grinned, " No problem sweetie."
She dug in, savouring the tender meat letting it roll of her tongue. The rocket lettuce was crunchy and delectable. The chips were cooked and seasoned to perfection crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside.
She cleared the whole plate. The only reason she survived was the healing properties in Tekhan's blood. Kaelyn came back in critical conditions only to be saved by him. She owes him her life.
She passes the plate back nodding a thanks. Voices echoed through the dungeon room. Instead of the dungeon having narrow halls it was one huge room giving the other prisoners a view of eachother. She was shackled by her legs, the chain running deep into the walls.
Many days Kaelyn found herself tugging at the chains to free herself. The cuffs that held her trapped in this chaos having cut into her wrists many times over, leaving hideous scares.
" I hear the king... He sounds furious. I must go now be strong little warrior princess." He placed a small smile on his lips attempting to mask his sadness.
Kaelyn nodded weakly. All the emotion numbed, her heart was stone cold. The fire she had was almost extinguished, a flicker of a candle remained. Tekhan opened his portal and leaped through it. Kaelyn watched it close behind him, vanishing.
The king walked into the cell slamming the thick bars behind him. He sniffed the air.
"Ah, I see your visitor has come to see you again, tell me princess... Where is he?" He said softly with a malicious smile.
" I don't know who you are talking abo-" the king Warick cut her off.
"Don't be coy with me woman!" His voice boomed.
She used to cower with fear, now she feared nothing. Her nerve endings were fried. The scars on her body ran deep... Though the body heals the mind remains broken.
Though the broken are more evolved... Or so people say.
She stared at the Demon king, her mind always wonders to Darius. What's he doing... Is he banging that witch... Oh yeah she knows about the witch. She knows everything. The Demon king sang when she seduced him then gave him a shot of a truth serum that he had, that was meant for her. She didn't let him go far enough to take her virginity.
He took Kaelyn up to his chambers a week after her capture. After her whippings she felt raw anger swell up inside her soul. She was thrown onto the bed giving her whiplash. She turned her head to the side and saw a syringe full of a yellow liquid. At first she thought it was poison so she went along with him, even though it made her want to vomit her organs out.
He pinned her to the mattress with her arms above her head. He licked his fork like tongue across her cheek. She faked a moan pretending she liked the way his disgusting slimy tongue felt against her skin. Her stomach churned. She barely held in the urge to throw her guts up all over him.
" I-I I want to be on top. To see to your pleasure my l-lord. " She stammered.
He stilled for a second and allowed her to climb on top of him.
Do it k, kill him and be free...
She bent down and kissed his chest then up along his jawline using her hair as a curtain to shield what her arm was doing. She reached to the drawer with the serum on it. She fumbled a little but grasped it tightly in her hand. She raised her arm, poised to strike. She lifted her head whilst bringing the needle down into his neck not giving him time to react. She forced the liquid out of the syringe and into his neck. He looked at her blankly. He then started to laugh.
"Fool! You have just shot me with the truth serum." He yelled laughing.
He went still suddenly, he stared through her not seeing.
Truth serum? I thought that was poison... Though I could use this to my advantage.
"Why do you want me as your prisoner. " She asked.
He hesitated clearly fighting it. " The witch promised me you were my fated one. As you are the princess the witch Tatiana wanted your crown. Now she has it. " He sneered.
"What do you gain out if this?" She asked.
" I get a queen, an heir and someone to bed... To see to my every need." He drooled.
" You mean your slave?" She pushed off him.
He smiled lazily, " yes, exactly." He whirled his hand and pointed his finger up when he slurred 'exactly'. Oh how she wanted to throttle him.
How could anyone want to be his wife. I would feel so sorry for her. I pity her existence.
He was working for a witch. The witch cursed Kaelyn because she was supposedly some sort of princess and the witch wanted to rule the kingdom.
She still didn't understand how she was a princess of a vampire kingdom, she is human.
I hope he finds that bogie hanging out of his nose and realises I have been staring at it. Trust me it's wiggling when he talks.
She stopped herself from grinning... Just.
Kaelyn wore a board expression on her face, tired of the same conversation day in and day out. She could predict his every sentence, knows his ticks of nervousness. She could tell the signs of his lies- which seems to be every word and syllable that come out of his filthy mouth.
He carried on shouting, flinging his arms here, there and everywhere. He was turning red and his face began to mould into something hideous. His horns grew in a threatening manor.
He sprung towards Kaelyn smacking her against the rough wall. She felt the air leave her lungs as she heard a crack in her chest. She didn't cry out and bit back the scream. She fell to the floor hitting her head against the concreted floor. She felt warm liquid run down her face. She saw red in her left eye. Blood.
" You will suffer hahaha! You will obey me my mate. I will break you until there is nothing left to break!" He roared in her ears.
Kaelyn smirked. " I will die before I bend to your will. I would rather face a thousand tortures, then give you what you want. You can never have me." She chuckled darkly.
I've gone completely insane.
He kicked her in the stomach sending her into the wall once again. She was winded and pretty sure she had internal bleeding. She didn't care. She got up slowly with her hand pressed against her stomach. He went for her again and she dodged him, side stepping she roundhouse kicked him into his back. Sending his head into the wall.
She had gotten stronger because of the blood and food , but right now it was pure adrenaline rush. He got up, growling at her, his horn had broken in half.
Way to go k! f*****g make the king seething with anger why not? Haha f**k it, worth the look on his face right now.
The king was staring at his horn on the floor, feeling what's left on his head.
Kaelyn bursted into deranged laughter. She pretended to wipe tears from her eyes. She smiled wide at him her eyes full of a dark gleam. She liked this... Maybe a little too much.
" Oh, do that again pleaseeeee." She toyed with him. She wasn't afraid. She welcomed the grim reaper, her angel of death.
The anger that flashed across his face was pure menacing. She held her finger up and said,"one second please I need to get the image of your priceless expression out of my mind." She snickered at him.
She beckoned him closer.
This just turned into the fight scene with Neyo and Morpheus in the Matrix.
He flung himself at her pinning her against the wall by her throat. He squeezed hard cutting the air flow from her windpipe. She sputtered her whimper barely audible. He raised his claw and sliced it across her stomach spilling her intestines. The pain was unimaginable. He watched Kaelyn's eyes bulge with satisfaction. He moved quickly getting a knife out of his sheath.
He let go of her throat. Watching her collapse onto the floor staring at the intestines sprawled out all over the place. She tried to scoop it back up inside her, her efforts were in vain. She looked up at the blade in his hands.
"What are you going to do huh? Stab me!" She forced the sarcasm into her tone of voice. The pain was throbbing through her like waves on a stormy day.
He brought the blade to her right eye and stabbed the blade through it.
She let out a blood curdling scream. The prisoners were restless, banging the iron bars wishing they could help Kaelyn. She was friends with them all.
Half her vision went black. She could feel the blood pouring down her cheek.
Is this how I die?
Kaelyn winced when he pulled the knife back out. With it was her eyeball. He cackled at it. He truly loved this. He brought the knife to his grinning mouth- surely he wouldn't- and opened his mouth popping the eyeball into his mouth and swallowed it whole.
Oh my god! My eye!
Anger boiled up to the surface. She didn't care about her injuries, she cared about revenge. She snatched the knife out of his hand. Before he could register what is happening she struck the knife into his eye over and over again. She was getting weaker by the second. She stabbed him in the throat twisting the blade making him roar with fury and howl with pain. She pulled the blade out and whispered to him...
"An eye for an eye cocksucker."
She collapsed onto the floor feeling the blood cool around her. The king left her there teleporting to - what Kaelyn could assume- his bedroom.
She welcomed what was to come next. Before the darkness took her vision she saw Tekhan rushing to her. He cut his wrist with a ritual blade and held out his arm for Kaelyn to take.
She refused.
" Just let me die Tekhan. I can't take this anymore. I can't bare going through this daily. It is finally time. Goodbye my friend. " She croaked, tears streamed like waterfalls down her face.
She saw Tekhan's eyes water. His face twisted in sorrow and despair.
The other prisoners chanted, " long live the vampire princess." Tekhan joined in. Kaelyn smiled through the pain.
Long live me, the supposed vampire princess.
Her body went cold... She felt the beating of her heart stop. The blood still in her arteries and veins. The pain ceased and she closed her eyes welcoming her end...
Tekhan stared at Kaelyn's lifeless body. Sorrow flared in his emotions. She was like his daughter, the only person he could call family. The only person he had left and now... Now he had nothing!
He shed the few tears he had left. Tears were so precious and he would gladly shed them for her. The woman who was so strong, like his little Freya, he was so proud of her bravery. Not a single tear fell when she got decapitated.
Kaelyn never shed a tear until the end. He fell to his knees unable to stand on his weak legs. He stared at her for a long moment sobbing. The prisoners all bowed their heads in respect.
He eyed one of them. There was a Lycan in the mix and he was watching silently ,keen to see the scene. He didn't know his name but he came in here shortly after Kaelyn did. He never spoke and moulded himself within the darkness.
He didn't take any notice of Tekhan who was staring at him. His eyes were fixated on Kaelyn.
He couldn't bare this scene anymore, he turned with one last look at the woman and leapt into his portal...
Douglas watched Kaelyn interested to see how things would unfold from here on out. She had made quite the impression on him. He made sure she never saw him. Never suspected his presence. He wished he could intervene, but in his heart he knew he would have to let her go down the path of her destiny on her own.
He stared knowing what is to happen next. Hannah and Douglas hatched a plan by letting her get caught by the demons. Hannah warned him of her saying if he didn't aline with her, he would never find his brother Gareth...
He saw her hand twitch.
It was time to start the war...
Alraya morte lest vitsiere juiliar...
To break the mortal chain you must...
Duiyre.
Die.
*****
Kaelyn started to feel again. The pain was gone but she felt alive. Images flashed through her mind...memories.
The lake... She remembered the face of the little boy. Darius. He was so cute. His hair wasn't overly long it was tidy, slicked back. She was laying on the grass next to the river bank looking at the clouds. She would always say one looked like a pig.
Darius blocked her view.
"Hey! What are you doing?" She demanded.
"Staring at a beautiful flower." He smiled sweetly at her.
"Oh..." She blushed deeply. Her round cheeks flushed bright pink.
"And you are laying on it, may you move?" He asked.
"No I am not how could you even-"
She was yanked up by him and forced to stand on her feet.
"You have no right to touch me peasant!" She whined frowning at him.
He laughed at her.
"What's so funny?" She stamped her foot on the ground.
"That I am a peasant. I am a not. I am of noble blood, princess." He looked at her and stared deep into her eyes.
"I'm going to marry you one day. "
He blurted.
She smiled a gappy smile. She had baby fangs which were not due to come out until adulthood.
" Okay." She grinned.
He stared at the flower which was squished. He held out his hand and let it hover just above it. Kaelyn watched its leaves straighten up. It was a beautiful little black rose.
I didn't see that there before... Mama said no one should touch it unless of royal blood.
It is said when a royal is near death a family member close to their hearts will receive a black rose. For some reason it was here...
She heard her mama call for her.
"Kaelyn dear it's time for your dad to go hunting, come see him off!" She looked at the boy staring at her.
" I have to go, bye bye." She waved at him.
She skipped over to her mum who was standing at the edge of the forest.
Her mother picked her up and in less than a second she was in her home. The entrance was huge and spacious with a grand staircase on either side of the room leading up to the second floor. Her father was standing in a cloak, his face was hooded over.
"Daddy I saw a black flower! It was pretty!" Kaelyn squealed.
Her dad took off his cloak. His eyes were wide.
"Honey what flower did you see." He bent down in front of her so they were eye to eye.
" A rose daddy. I didn't touch it, I promise!" She gabled holding her pinky up.
He held both of her arms in his hands. " How did you find it?" He whispered.
" It was underneath me, but I didn't lay on it. It was just there!" She waved her arms through the air grinning.
" Listen sweetheart, don't tell anyone about this. It is out little secret." He held out his pinky. Kaelyn took it giggling.
"Ok, daddy." She beamed looking into her father's blue eyes.
" I will be back soon..."
The memory faded and a shock of electricity coursed through Kaelyn's veins. She felt her heart start, beating an unusual pace. Her jaw ached as she felt something push against her upper canine teeth. Her body jolted as if being zapped by a defibrillator. Her sense of smell heightened back to how it used to be. It felt like there was a huge blockage being release. She felt her intestines being pulled back in by an invisible force.
She opened her eye and saw an eyeball staring at her.
Oh my god, what the actual ass! That was my other eyeball! But those irises were blue? My eyes are green- Wait... How can I see then?
She opened her other eye slowly. With a sign of relief she realised she could see and so much better then before. She could see the dust particles floating in the air. The colour was so much brighter. She chewed something hard in her mouth. She spat it finding her two incisors on the floor. She gasped in horror and felt her teeth they were all there but her adult fangs were there.
She tried to get up slowly finding she was in a crouch in a second facing the door. A growl low and menacing filled the room... It was hers. She faced the guard who was stood there rooted to the spot petrified.
Food... Starving. It's been YEARS!
She leaped at the guard baring her teeth, her incisors lengthened even more, sharpening to lethal points.
She plunged her fangs deep into the guards neck feeling the hot liquid of blood fill her mouth. She moaned against him biting harder into his artery. Her claw like nails dug deep into his neck. She ripped his neck apart exposing the muscles, tissues and bone. She jumped off him just as he began to fall to the ground. She licked her lips liking the taste.
Oh how she missed this. The human side of Kaelyn was gone, the unawareness, the person who didn't know who she is.
I am Kaelyn Dragomire and tonight this realm will feel my wrath!
She started giggling uncontrollably. Laughing louder and louder until she looked like a crazy woman. Which was true. She stopped short and turned to the prisoners who were staring at her, some in shock, others in fright. There was one who stood out amongst them all... He was smirking.
Douglas.
She traced to his side.
He didn't move. He stared at her in awe.
" Hello again princess." He smiled.
" Douglas how- when- I'm so glad to see you! Wait... How did you get here and why?" She asked suspicious.
"How... That's easy I went to a bar full of immortals and killed a few demons. Why? For you. Hannah told me about your capture and I was here to look after you. She wanted me to get you out of here when you awakened. Though as I can see you have not yet... Finished. " He looked her up and down noticing she was loosing finger nails. All of her features where changing...
"I don't know why this is happening and how do you know Hannah? I need answers to the questions I have."
She stated.
" Not now Kaelyn, we have company." He jerked his head in the direction of her cell. Guards were swarming it, blocking the view into her cell.
"I have a plan Douglas. I will free these prisoners and get them out of here after this battle. On the promise that they will aid me when the time comes." He nodded giving her the green light to go.
She traced to the other prisoners whispering to them to serve her when she needed them. No harm would come to them if they are to be freed.
They all nodded and she started breaking the shackles that held them bound to this wretched place. She caught the attention of the guard when she broke the last prisoners shackles and freed the prisoners. It was all done in a matter of seconds.
The guards charged at them.
"Will you fight with me!" She paused as they all roared, 'aye'.
"Will you fight for your freedom!" They roared louder this time.
" Then let's go!" She boomed. They went into a battle frenzy, claws were slashing, swords were swinging. Body's fell to the floor both guards and prisoners a like.
A guard swung a sword at Kaelyn's neck, she dodged it and elbowed the guard in the stomach, winding him. The sword dropped and Kaelyn bit his windpipe and tore it out. She watched him go wide eyed and collapse. She traced throughout the battle taking the falling guards sword and decapitating her enemies. Soon their were heads, limbs and other parts of the body were covering the ground staining it with their blood.
Tekhan ran through the portal, and picked Kaelyn up cheering.
" I can't believe you are alive! Look at you... You are different. You have changed... You hair is no longer blonde! Your eyes are emerald green... Not blue. You're... A vampire! It is true. The prophecy is true. We are getting out of here." He said.
Just as he was about to go through his portal Kaelyn said, "Wait." He halted and looked at her. "They need to get out of here. They helped me. I promised them Tekhan. " She pleaded.
Tekhan sighed. " Ok. We have to hurry though. More guards will be upon us, we mustn't be long.
He stepped aside." This portal will take you out of this realm. Go! " He shouted.
They all obeyed him leaping through it cheering as they went thanking Kaelyn. Though she didn't yet know if she could trust them, but they helped her when she needed it most.
Douglas was about to step through when Tekhan stood in front of him.
"Not you." He sneered.
"Yes me." He said smirking.
"Douglas is a friend, not foe." Kaelyn piped up.
" You know this Lycan." Tekhan asked her.
"Yes he was in the old prison with me." She said.
"Yes! So may I please pass." He chirped.
Tekhan hesitated but let him through. They were the last ones to go. Tekhan just stepped into the portal when a loud bang filled the room.
The entrance. There stood the king with what looked to be a huge troll.
"Tekhan! Tekhan MOVE!" She screamed.
Tekhan didn't waste a second he ran through the portal and out the other end. Kaelyn watched it close but not before the king yelled," I will be the death of you, mark my words!"
Kaelyn turned from the portal to see a snowy landscape. Normally she would be freezing in her rags but she felt warm in Tekhan's arms.
"Come on let's get you into some shelter." He walked in front of the crowd of immortal prisoners leading them to their temporary home...
Death is just the beginning...
