Chapter 7

Cindy finally ignited her car's engine and drove out to the shopping mall. She slowed down a bit as the shopping mall seemed more crowded now compared to the morning when she had arrived. Cindy realized it was already evening, and most people might have closed from their various workplaces, as they crowded the mall and market area again. She drove her car to a parking lot, parked, and switched off the engine, nervously staring around. "It's my first time asking a guy out, not even a neat guy. What have I gotten myself into? I think Mom said Jeremy Lukeman is coming over tomorrow to see me. Why can't I just wait to meet with Jeremy instead? I hope I can do this?" Cindy pushed her car door open, stepped down, locked her car door properly, and adjusted her white suit to fall in properly as she strode up to the market area. Cindy stood aside, staring at the multitude of people going in and out of the shopping complex, and she sighed heavily as she saw some people also staring at her. Her white suit was super expensive, so she knew why their eyes were preying on her, admiring her, while her heart was restless. Standing there for a few more minutes, Cindy finally walked up to some men she saw carrying loads for some elderly women, and she remembered she hadn't bought anything, so asking about a man whose name she didn't even know, but only his complexion and height, seemed weird. "Hi..." Cindy approached a man who was counting the little money given to him by a woman he had just helped carry her load to her car. He shifted his gaze to Cindy and stared at her in shock, as Cindy looked so beautiful like an angel. "Hi, how may I help you?" the black man in dirty clothing asked Cindy. Cindy tried not to twist her nose in irritation, as the man stank badly, like he hadn't bathed for days. "I'm looking for someone. I don't know his name, but he carries people's loads around," Cindy said, trying hard not to frown or twitch her nose. "Any problem? Do you have any load you want me to carry?" the black man asked her, but Cindy quickly shook her head and replied, "No, no problem. I only came to buy something yesterday, and he helped me, but I just want to see him again and thank him again." "Oh, I'm sorry, madam, but I don't know who you're talking about. Look around, you might see him. I've got to go now. I thought you had a load you wanted me to carry," the black man said, his eyes raking over Cindy, and he quickly walked away from her. Cindy sighed, letting out her held breath, and she frowned, wondering how many more men she would have to approach to ask for the stranger she only admired. "If only I had spoken to him politely, at least I would've gotten to know him better," Cindy said, frowning more, still not wanting to walk back to the parking lot to drive home. Cindy stood aside, kept staring at the different men assisting different people in carrying their loads. She saw how they were sweating, carrying different heavy loads. As she wanted to walk away, her eyes suddenly landed on the particular person she had been hoping to see. And her heart started beating faster and louder in her chest, making her blush. Cindy quickly looked away from the man as he walked past her, carrying a woman's sack on his shoulder. He kept it in the woman's car trunk that was right beside where Cindy stood, and the woman spoke to him nicely. "Thank you very much, Mr. Handsome. Do you live around here?" the fair-complexioned middle-aged woman asked Peter, staring at him seductively. "No, madam. I just come here to work," Peter replied casually, while Cindy stared at the woman biting her lower lip seductively and staring at Peter. It was obvious the yellow woman was attracted to Peter. Cindy didn't want to seem rude, so she looked away from them, suppressing her jealousy as she listened to their conversation. The fair-skinned middle-aged woman asked, "Really? I really like you, and this isn't the first time I've seen you around here. Can we be friends, and meet up, you and me, and get to screw ourselves?" Cindy subtly coughed, because the old woman was so shameless. Her seductive black eyes not shifting away from admiring Peter. "No, madam. I don't do hookups," Peter calmly replied in his deep, male, husky voice, and Cindy was glad he rejected the old woman. "Really, but why? I can understand that you might be afraid of any sexually transmitted diseases out there, but I'm clean down there to the core. And I'm going to pay you heavily for just a night with me, and you'll love it, mm," the old woman proposed, trying to take some steps closer to Peter. "No, madam, I'm sorry, but I cannot do that," Peter refused, and this time, Cindy coughed out loudly, making the old woman and Peter stare back in her direction. However, Cindy didn't look at them, continuing to stand there as if waiting for someone. The old woman's eyes narrowed at Cindy for disrupting the little chat she was having with the handsome young man, and she shifted her gaze back to Peter. "So, as I was saying..." [Cough - Cough!] Cindy coughed out loudly, interrupting the old woman again. The fair-skinned old woman hissed and smiled at Peter instead, who still stood in front of her, waiting for her to pay him, as they stood beside her black car. The old woman shut her car trunk and walked up to meet Peter, wanting to seduce him publicly. She tried to touch his chest, but Peter avoided her closeness. "See, I'm a married woman with two kids, but my husband doesn't satisfy me in bed. And I'm not asking you to love me, just a night, and I promise to pay you heavily for it, please..." "No, ma'am, I'm so sorry, but I cannot do that," Peter refused, avoiding the old woman's closeness. The old woman narrowed her gaze, her eyes burning redder at his rejection, and she cussed, "I'm just trying to help your useless life, and you're forming nonsense! How much is your money again? Mctheeew!" Peter was stunned by the old woman's sudden change in attitude. She hissed, staring at her open palm. She threw his money at him angrily for helping her carry her load. The money falling to the ground. The old woman then walked away to her car, entered it, and drove away angrily, cussing at Peter for rejecting her. "Hmph..." Peter sighed as he picked up his money. He knew he had always been bullied since he was younger. As it was always the young ladies and schoolgirls ogling to be his girlfriend, and now it was married women and old women disturbing him too. Peter didn't like to take advantage of anyone and, because he was more focused on his education, he never took relationships seriously when he was in the village. Even then, he had told his village girlfriend to move on with her life and marry someone else, as he wasn't yet ready to settle down with her in marriage. Peter dusted the money he had picked up from the sandy road and counted it, seeing it was complete. He sighed and turned to leave, but just then, Cindy turned to face him, and they met each other's gaze. As she had been rehearsing what she would say to him. "Hi..." Cindy spoke nervously, as she came face to face with Peter. Peter gulped heavily, knowing he had just moved from the frying pan to the fire, and he forced out his response, "Hi." "Sorry to bother you. I'm Cindy Williams by name, but you can just call me Cindy," Cindy said bashfully, and Peter stared at her pretty face, gulping as he looked at her from head to toe in her white, sparkling suit, stunned. Peter saw that Cindy looked so hot and breathtakingly sophisticated in her white suit and trousers that matched her black high-heeled shoes. He asked her, "Yes, how may I help you?"
